I have given you both a green and red ball. I was the one who informed you about companies looking for a reviewer. I believe you have potential. As someone else stated, you review guns I am not always interested in, however, you have also brought out rifles that I was not aware of and peaked my interest. There is a market for what you do. I believe you have gotten both good and bad criticism.Your job is to determine what is good and bad. Like shooting, you can always improve.......and you need to improve to stifle your critics.
There is a reason you have not reached a level of respect that you want and unfortunately it's up to you to figure it out. I believe this forum will give you a good shake if you put out a good product. Unfortunately, It's a hard lesson for young people today to learn, that respect has to be EARN. Participation trophies in life are not given. You have gotten off to a shaky start yet you continue to improve but.......you are not there yet. Because of this shaky start, you will have to overcompensate to validate yourself on this forum. This requires more effort than you anticipated.
As you have previously stated; you have two choices. You can conclude that we are all ASSHOLES here and have singled you out and leave this forum.......or you can prove to us that you are adding to the content of this forum. Understand, this may be the top forum for exposure of what you want to do. Your best critics are HERE. The top figures around the globe have choosen AGN to express themselves. My God Ed from Russia posts here! You need to bring your A-game to win here or......go home. This is a very educated crowd here and they will call you out if you are not prepared. Ed called Ted out recently. Harry from Australia has challenge many on ballistics.
If you you pass over your -'s you will see quite a few words of encouragement (one from me)! YOU need to decide the direction of you airgun career. Is is low budget, low level rifle reviews (and there is a place for that) or do you want the recognition of say a Giles from AirgunGear Show. If it's the latter, keep at it brother and go for it. You will need to..... up your game. In both cases just be orignal and genuine. Your approach should be two-fold: one: take the good criticism and make corrections and two: find role models and study them! Be yourself but follow their techniques. There are about three other people on this forum that you can model after, namely, Ted, Steve, and Matt.
One thing to remember as others have said. If you stick yourself out there, there are many who will go out of their way to pound you down. Ted took great criticism and public riducule for starting this forum and unfortunately one of the reasons he no longer posts. I am sure a short conversation with Steve from AEAC will tell how much "resistance" he gets on a DAILY basis, especially when he first started.
So, it's up to you to continue here or not. You will have to look inward for validation and direction. If your true goal is to provide valid information in an entertaining way you will get there. Understand, unfortunately, that the only approval that matters come from within. I do hope you reach your goal!
Best of Luck
