Thanks for the Feedbacks! -Nate

Since this post went up, my Friends at AGN, my fellow AGN members, have "redeemed" my "reputation" ...so the stuff in this post is no longer an issue. Thanks guys! -Nate

Hey guys, I have been posting my videos here for about 1 year. I am wondering what Airgun Nation’s problem is? If you check out my feedback score there are a ton of negative comments about me. When I tried to ask a few of the “good apples” to even the score...I got more negs...and it continues.

Seems to me like you guys are a bunch of negative Nellies? Is this true? I remember when I first started here, trying to sell 2 brand new Steyrs. I said they were NIB and was called a liar by a bunch of people. Then once I got over that hump, they insisted I was an Airgun dealer. Things got really ugly...but a Moderator worked things out. Very rough start. I know people lash out when they are jealous, and I know I have an Airgun collection that is off the charts. Is that what’s going on here?

...all it takes for evil to succeed is for good men to do nothing. So maybe that’s what’s going on? A few bad apples are leaving neg comments, and then the rest of you just sit around and do nothing.

......anyway, if it continues to go this way I will just stop posting on AGN. According to my accuracy score, this would be a better place without me.

so if y’all want to get me in the green then do it. If not, then you don’t really deserve to see my videos.

P.S. Hatsan just sent me a Vectis for free and Pyrymid Air is partnering with me. ...this is just the beginning. I’d love for you guys to join me on this awesome adventure....but things aren’t looking too good for AGN at this point. Can we fix this?

All I can say about dealing with you is a couple of years ago I sold you a chrono that I didn’t need anymore. I received prompt payment and had no problems. I had no issues with you in making that sale. As far as your post and videos go some I liked some I didn’t. But I never found anything to be offensive. If there are some folks out there who aren’t happy with what you do I wouldn’t worry about it just do what you think is best and follow the golden rule.

In this world you can only hope and pray that you have done the right thing but you will make some mistakes, just learn from them and don’t get frustrated.

Good luck and I can truly say I have no problems with you.

Likewise, no issues here. Even given you a + somewhere along the line I think. No negs from this corner.

Surprised at the venom in some of the comments and negs on your videos. Admittedly not all my thing but never found any offensive. Certainly no more so than the clear brand loyalties of so many youtubers that are giving 'reviews' and biased advice. Age old thing of 'don't watch what you don't like' comes to mind for some of them. Can't speak on any of the ones regarding deals etc- oh well.

Anyway, hope you stick around. A forum full of completely like minded people gets boring and and a boring forum dies out pretty quickly... May as well talk to yourself instead 😜

*Mob mentality?

*Anonymous piling on?

*No official ground rules for assigning plusses or minuses?

*No moderation of reward/punishment system?

*Inconsistent application of rules, especially rule #3:https://www.airgunnation.com/topic/forum-rules/?view=all

~~~~~~~~~~~~
However, on balance, the positives of AGN far, far outweigh the negatives. The information, assistance and camaraderie here is invaluable. My fervent desire is for the influence of this forum to expand, further empowering airgun enthusiasts/hobbyists.
Try not to allow a few anonymous individuals, who throw slings and arrows from the dark get to you.
+ one for your perseverance.
"I am wondering what Airgun Nation’s problem is?"
"I know people lash out when they are jealous, and I know I have an Airgun collection that is off the charts."
"If not, then you don’t really deserve to see my videos."
Are you old enough to even buy an airgun legally? These three lines say it all for me. Come on man, really?
The reason for this post is because I got 3 negs on this post ....saying I spout wrong info constantly,...
Now:.... this post came after a guy emailed me for some basic info on air guns BECAUSE he said he had asked on forums, but NO ONE would explain the basic PCP stuff to him. Then I made a post explaining PCP for Newbies and got 3 negs ON THAT POST! What is weird is I don't think there is any bad info in the post????
...unless it's wrong to explain things to people who don't know what were all talking about.
PCP for Dummies Post
P.S. Thanks for the + feedbacks guys! I'm feeling better already. -Nate
Well, let me get this out of the way first. Asking the collective "what's your problem" isn't exactly a good idea if you are interested in building a rapport, any more than it is to ask your wife or girlfriend, "Ugh, what's gotten into you?" if you are interested in a little romance.
I've only been on AGN for a few months but I've found it to be as welcoming and supportive as any of the popular airgun forums. Generally I find airgunners to be very positive overall, especially as it pertains to sharing the sport and offering technical advice.
I voraciously consume technical content about airguns. I'm very interested in tuning, modification, accurizing techniques, understanding the dynamics of how different powerplants work, how regulators work, etc. I read a lot and I watch quite a few videos on airguns. I've checked out some of your content over the last year or so and saw numerous errors, and made a value judgment that I would be unlikely to learn something new. Therefore I have largely stopped watching the new material.
Here's the most significant thing in my opinion. When someone watches a video, there is an expectation that the author will be presenting accurate, complete information. We have a low tolerance for mistakes or misleading information, and zero tolerance when it comes to matters of safety.
Some of the criticism people have given you is quite harsh indeed, and at times I was impressed by how well you've handled it. It appeared to me your heart is in the right place and that you are a good-natured person, and that goes a long way in my book. However if you want to build a positive reputation in this online community, your content has to be accurate. It just isn't enough to be likable.
OMG !!!.....hang in there Bud !! I clearly remember the "hy..steyrs..ical response to the two Steyrs you posted. I was amazed at your composure and give you accolades for remaining calm here. There may be folks on this forum that are perfect however I not one of them. We all have mistakes/missteps along the way so we need to learn from them and move on. I would encourage you to stay and keep up your work in a hobby/field that you are passionate about. Just my two cents.
Mark2cars " hy..steyrs..ical " that's hilarious!
I do have to say I deserve at least 5-6 of those negs feedbacks for backing out of deals at the last minute or saying something truly stupid (PSI related) on a video....but the other 40...those are some crazy comments!
Thanks for all the kind words this Saturday morning! This latest video took about 20 minutes to film and 26 hours to edit. There no way you will get through it without laughing at least once. Put any drinks down before you watch it.
I appreciate you guys! -Nate
 You try,your nice and respectful,not always dead on,butt who is here?I really did not know about the grading system and it concerns me because frankly I do notice a lack of humour here...I like your videos,I know enough to see you are trying,I am not a teacher so I do not grade,butt I well look into it and wtf,we all want to be entertained,if people really do not like what you do they need to ask themselves if they can do it better and if so ,"Just Do It".
Well, any time you put yourself in the public eye, whether it's on the World Wide Web or in your local community, you'd best have a thick skin. I've been involved in the leadership of my hometown...which I don't live in currently...since the early 1980's until I got married and moved to the big city where I am now. I adopted a saying that the former fire chief...and closer personal friend and mentor...had, which was "I'd liked to be loved...but it ain't absolutely necessary!"
When you put yourself out there, what goes along with that is making absolutely certain that what YOU put out there is absolutely accurate, and that you're honest in all dealings, and that your reputation is secure in the community. OP, I'd say, from reading quickly thru the comments, that you've failed to hit that mark! I don't have personal knowledge one way or another, but since you asked this question...which infers some insecurities...I'd either work on that, or get out of the public eye. What I'd prefer to see you do is continue your YouTube channel, and tighten up your accuracy of information. If you've been spastic in your business dealings with folks in the past, there's some damage control to be done there, as well.
I live this advice I'm giving you. Contemporaneously with my activities in the community, I also do a service business in addition to my regular job. I've always been scrupulously honest with people, even when it meant losing money, and today, I've gained that reputation where people trust me and that's why they call me to work for them. Many of them have disagreed with my work in the public sector, and many not personally like me because of that. But...they call me to work on their appliances!!! I may not be loved...but...it's not absolutely necessary when they trust me! You may need to salvage some things here, sir! Good luck to ya!
First off, I think the green/red dots need to go away. People obsessed with collecting green dots reminds me of another forum I used to frequent where post count was the thing. If you need my confirmation to make you feel good about yourself, you have other problems.
Second, to be honest I have not looked at any of your reviews until today. I looked at 5 at random and none were reviews anywhere near the caliber of Ted, Steve, or Matt. Yours were replete with phrases like: “I think”; “I heard from someone”; “it should get about X number of shots”. Real reviews are first person, I have the gun in my hands, I have exhaustedly tested it and this is what I find, not what I think or what I heard.
Nuff said.
I wouldn't worry about the Red/Green ball thing . I never look at it unless a post like this brings it to my attention.
Haven't seen a lot of your newer videos but will take a look .
If you are like me and have a small YouTube channel you have to grow thick skin quick . A lot of guys who have channels that no longer , or rarely post content have stopped because of negative stuff said by folks .
It's not a hobby or even a job if it takes you down that path , without a lot of folks taking a crap on your videos . Do what I do , take it all as constructive criticism. Some things I won't change about my videos , others I welcome the feedback .Either way I enjoy the comments folks leave
I have my own reasons for doing this and FUN is the biggest part . It's the same reason I come here ..Some of the best guys in the sport frequent this forum and I'm proud to be a member .
Don't let folks get to ya . Every negative little ball thing I've gotten here I'm sure I earned , I don't really check it . Trick is just be comfortable being yourself Nate .
But I will say starting a post or conversation with " WHATS YOUR PROBLEM ?" Rarely starts things off on the right foot . A million years ago I worked weekends as a Bouncer . What's your problem is one if those phrases that usually means you are fixing to break up a fight .
Next time try " Hey guys can I ask for some feedback ?" That'll probably get more traction than putting folks on the defensive with the opening statement ....Then again I may be wrong 😁
I was taught that if you can't say anything positive don't say anything at all. Mob mentality on a member who's hearts in the right place will never bring positive change. Understanding and constructive criticism will. I've actually gained some insight from a few of your videos and think you deserve an A for effort. Just remember that what you say may reflect on the group as a whole. You should always be mindful of safety concerns and the message you put out. As for the clicks that exist in this group I don't reward bad behavior by following their misguided actions. It shows weakness in one's character and you will find a click full of self proclaimed experts at the core of every failed group or organization.
When i first got on AGN i made a few mistakes that really pissed a few ppl off...that wasnt my Intentions but i got a few bad reviews because my Ignorants & Lack of knowledge about the does & donts here on AGN...ive bought & sold here on AGN...Everyone was happy Including myself...The bad reviews doesn't bother me at all because everyone is Entitled to their own opinions & i totally respect that....I do good business...when i buy something here on AGN i pay fast and when i sell something i ship it out via 2 day air mail...but i understand your frustrations...you see my red light is shining Bright...lol
I've started viewing most of your vids, I have not watched many till the end. I see rapid firing with a semi 177 blasting lollipops and army men. Speaking for myself the weight, noise level, grouping at 50 yards with a few of the accurate pellets, and the FPS would hold my attention. One of the posts mentions you own a chronograph, we have not seen much of it. Reviews without the gun? I have not posted one way or the other.
