What HPA compressor??

I have 2 pcp airguns & I'm just getting to old to keep using a hand pump! even though I don't shoot a whole lot annually, I do have my moments while popping black birds or squirrel hunting or just setting up for different ammo. I need a decent HPA compressor! while affordable is nice, I want longevity as well.. If those 2 don't go together, I would rather buy once & cry once then be disapointed.

Suggestion please..

I bought the Spritech on Amazon and added a four year warranty. The total cost was around $350. It is working great. While these types of compressors generally break after some time, the four year warranty, which was $45 will make sure I’m covered. It fills my Taipan Veteran from 150 bar to 250 bar in 3.5 minutes. It is also portable and can be powered in the field from my cars battery.

This thread may get more response in the “Air Tanks, Pumps, Compressors, and Filters” forum.
*Caveat, I don’t own one, but I have read many reviews and threads regarding experiences, issues, and maintenance of the Hill EC-3000. They seem to be fairly easy compressors to maintain and there are threads and videos available to help if ever in need of assistance. It appears that this compressor has a decent and proven record for filling PCPs. https://www.pyramydair.com/product/air-venturi-ec-3000-compressor-by-hill?a=9412

Here are some AGN threads on it:

The Yong Heng will last as long or longer than the Hill and costs only $300.

The Yong Heng has a cast iron cylinder and metal rings on the first stage. The Hill is aluminum and has rubber o-rings on it's first stage.

You will likely have to tinker with either of these every few months to keep them running well. The only way to get around this is to purchase a $2500 - $3500 Alkin, Bauer, or Coltri compressor.

If you don't use it much you don't have to worry so much about the longevity though. That gives you many more choices.

In the end I expect either of these units would werq well for you it's just a matter of how much you want to spend.

I don't own a Yong Heng, never even seen one in person. Based on only what I have read they seem to be well worth their price. If price was my major concern would probably buy it. If price was no concern and had a place to store/use it I would probably get a Aiken.

I do own the Hill EC-3000, since last December. Here is my experience with it:

The number one reason I got it is because of the reputation of the manufacturer, Hill, their support and the availability of parts. I paid under $1000 for mine. It is super easy to use, no oil smell, very little maintenance and pretty darn quiet. Its small, 19 X 9 X 15" tall, and easy to carry. It surprisingly has a pretty good size motor.

Never needed the factory support yet, well yes I did, kinda of. This November I hadn't used it for about a month and then it would not build pressure once I tried. Instead of going on this forum or checking with YouTube videos I just reviewed the videos and documents Hill has put out. Their video on cleaning the valves, was the right one. Easy fix.

Well pleased with the Hill EC-3000.

The Yong Heng or Spritech is much more appealing price wise! 2 grand for the hill is alot of $$..

Thanks for the suggestion guys/gals.

Two grand? In the link I sent they run just under $1200 and they’re currently in stock.

OOP's sorry! It is 1,200.00.. Still, I had a top end price of around 7-800.00 max in mind.. Probably give Y.h a try. I have heard others say good things about it.

Found one with auto shut off for around 300.00..

Is the Hill 3000 made in the states?

I have the Spritech didn't get the extended warranty but that is good idea. I use it maybe 15 to 20 minutes a week since around June and so far it's seems fine. Yes not as robust as the ones that use water and oil to cool things down but I didn't want to deal with all that right now. I have had to do a few repairs and all parts have been sent at no cost to me so support has been very good so far. If you just need to fill guns and not very often (meaning not every couple days) the air cooled ones can keep you going for a while time will tell for how long.

Do you fill just guns or have you filled large air tanks with it?

I have the YH. It works. Beats pumping. Hassle getting it working with the 5 gallon bucket of water and all, but soooooooo worth not hand pumping. I have 2 rifles I shoot and a couple more PCP's that pretty much sit.

They cost about what a good hand pump costs (maybe a bit more) on eBay. And if it dies, buying a second is still cheaper than the next model up that costs in the $1000+ range.

Not the most elegant solution, but right spot on my budget.

In due time I may get a bottle.. This time of yr finances are slim with 4 kids & 7 grand kids, so the essentials are all I need right now.. No big hurry for anything really!

Just cruising along gathering info as I go..

Saltlake58 - Why is it hard to get the water flowing? Is 5 gallons of water really needed?

Thanks
