What Happened to Ted ?

I haven't seen anything here about Ted's adventures at EBR he was all excited and apparently had his .30 twin tank Impact dialed in. But when I checked the results it looks like he used a .25 cal gun. I was really looking forward to see how his .30 worked. I hope he is not embarrassed about his loss and doesn't want to post anything on his blog I look forward to his videos always informative and entertaining .

I have competed for over 50 years in all types of Shooting Sports from Air Guns to 50BMG and all kind of pistol events. Won a lot and lost a lot. One time I drove 350 miles to a match and forgot the ammo. a couple of times I let another shooter use my gun as his broke and he beat me with my gun. I've had a lot of things happen to cause me to lose a match and I won other matches when thing happened to others. But I have always enjoyed every match I shot and really enjoyed all of the shooters, a great bunch of people enjoying the sport.

So if anyone knows why he didn't use his .30 please let us know I really would like to hear about it.

Agree. Especially after the video where he implied that everyone else was shooting for 2nd place...

if Ted does decide to tell us about the gun he finally decided to use at EBR and why, I’d like to know about the bizarre setup he used for speed Silo unlimited class. It appeared to be an FX semi auto, but the scope was mounted what appeared to be 6 to 8 inches higher than a normal scope mount. It obviously didn’t workout for him, since he missed a lot of targets with this setup, but I’m curious about the actual setup and reasoning.

So I've long suspected there are two reasons for Ted being a bit flakey the last couple years. The first is that youtube has really cut back on what they're paying people. This crash isn't for just airgun/hunting channels, you see it across the board. This is why channels which used to be just adsense money have started selling crap like T-shirts and mugs and such. The second is that Ted, or rather his wife, has started popping out kids. As a result things like hunting, filming, editing, and dealing with youtube's BS have simply taken a back seat since you can't blame someone for kids taking a lot of time and being a priority. After all, if he isn't making much money off the adsense, he doesn't have any real motivation to post a video other than his enjoyment of it. As long as he cranks out enough content to keep vendors sending him the toys he wants, he gets no real advantage from posting more. I don't mean that in a negative accusatory way, to suggest he is just in it for the stuff, just that he probably feels he has better things to do.

my 2c

Glad you brought this up,

I really don't blame Ted for not posting more often. Even when Ted tried to put a video on (like the Gantlet one), he got blasted. Everyone immediately critics his opinions and actions. He only posted his TRUE BAD experiences with the Gauntlet, then everyone went in an up roar. Then he posts about his FX guns, then everyone just bitches that he is just saying great things because he is only being "PAID" to do it. Then everyone still asks, (including myself) "Where is TED?"

Bottomline, he is burnt out by being a spokesman of this hobby/sport. It has become a formal job for him, more than a just a fun jobby. When a person has to defend themselves all the time,... you find something else to occupy your time. I don't blame him for taking a back seat on airgunning. I would have taken one long ago.

Amen.

I wasn't bitching about Ted . I was curious as to why he changed guns after he put so much work and time into dialing in the .30 Impact. I am sorry that you felt I was attacking Ted I was not. I have a lot of respect for him or any other that would put themselves out there to help and inform others .

I know you weren't. I was speaking in general. Everytime he does post one, it causes an uproar. I asked the same questions "Where is he?" Thats just what I believe is happening and hope that everyone would handle themselves better when he does post, so he keeps posting.

The day of the event was not windy. So, .25 is a little more accurate. So, Ted did not use the. 30. I would to like to see it too bad. I'm just trying to inform people how I see Ted's absence so...then next video he puts on the refrain from bashing him.

Please take off your negative accuracy on me. Sorry you interpreted that it was a bash on yourself, it wasn't. Thanks!

I am kind of curious myself why the .25 over the .30. As far as the videos and him not posting I do recall him posting up a video about how hen was going to spend more time doing family related stuff (dont quote me though). Video work can take time and I have no doubt his personal life is more important to him. I myself have broken away from hobby related things to spend more time with my personal life. So yeah I get it.

I’m not sure if he shot a .25 or a .30. Some of the calibers listed in the results were incorrect, so maybe he did shoot the .30?

Also, I’m curious about the phrase “the day wasn’t windy, so .25 is a little more accurate”. When did that happen? I wasn’t aware that .25 is a more accurate caliber than .30? If you review Teds EBR prep video you’ll see he plainly stated that his “boobie” double bottle Impact in .30 caliber is the most accurate gun he’s ever shot. Food for thought... He may have shot that gun. I know he had it with him because I saw him shoot it (not very well) in the AFT event on day 1.

So this is a bit OT, but now I have a question. I assume EBR is scored based on paper break right? That is how most target competitions are scored. If that is the case, even if .25 were more accurate than .30 (which I'm not saying either way), wouldn't that be offset by the additional 25 thou on the radius of the .30 caliber pellets as opposed to the .25 caliber pellets? This sort of thing happened in the target archery world a few years back, people started shooting FAT arrows because they left bigger holes which meant you cold be further from center and still get your tear to an inner ring. How inaccurate (get it?) is my statement? :p

All of the targets are measured with a .357 plug (which is the largest size allowed in most events).

I don't think burnt out, he has taken his ball and gone home. Just think, getting paid for something and it is a job....and that requires work....man that is just so far out of line....you have to work to get money....and people will voice their thoughts on your "reviews". Very biased reviews....products he "reviewed" that he said he hated...so wish I would have downloaded that hatchet video of his.

It is his history, I am told he use to "own" this forum and if he took any neg. comments he would vanish, and finally again took his ball and went home.....And as far as FX goes, just look at this forum for people with issues on that company and its products, no calls back, no emails answered and yet from him they are perfect.

When I read or watch a review, I want a not biased review, give me the good and the bad as un biased as possible and I really thing NONE of the current "reviewers" do that....none.

And think about it....do you think Umerex would ever give Teddy another thing to review after that last hack video he did....and it was a pure and simple hack video...nothing more....so sure all these guys have an agenda....even the poster child here.

Wife has said well why don't you make videos.....not possible, working a REAL job, having to spend MY OWN MONEY on items and it does take a huge amount of skill and talent to make a good video....I don't have the time for it...but I sure have thought about it, and even tinkered with editing software....the thought is bouncing around in my mind.

Make no mistake Teddy took his ball and went home, people have seen him for what he really is and started to call him out on it.....and the poor boy can't take it....many of them can't.

I also doubt "true bad", it would not shock me for him to make it bad....oddly enough he cocked and fired the gun in his first "unboxing" video and had no issue.

I'm thinking its family and kids that take up a lot of his time....probably hard to get out of the house away from the family for 3-4 hours to shoot pests. I sold most of my airgun stuff because it was just sitting waiting to leak....these days I only have two ags condor ss and cz634. My lineup is pretty sad to many but I enjoy the two guns.

I would like to ask the moderator to close this thread all I wanted to know was why Ted changed guns at the EBR and it has turned into a bash Ted thread. I never say anything bad about someone unless I say it to their face. One thing I was taught in the USMC keep your opinions to yourself and do your job the best you can. Also I was taught a person doesn't talk behind someone's back you talk to their face like a man.

Ted I am sorry this turned into a negative Ted thread that wasn't my intention I was just curious as to the gun change at EBR . You have a great day and enjoy your family.
