What else do you do?

Surely we are all here because we all have something in common, that's airgunning! But it also helps to be well rounded as an individual so there are probably other things that we each do or are good at! I think it would be cool to see how people can connect with each other on more than one level. So my question is, what other activities do you participate in?

So to start off with, I'm in soccer, cross country skiing, track and field, and trap shooting.

Avid bass fisherman; create my own fishing baits including soft plastic pouring/injection and airbrushing; action pistol competitor (semi-auto and revolver); range safety officer; formerly ran the pistol section at my local gun club for nine years; former public radio show host for six years (old time radio programs); short story published in a short story compilation.

Here are some swimbait examples that I created by injecting soft plastic material into molds and airbrush painting.

I like to travel 4 fun :)

Seriously, I really do. I have been to 42 countries across the globe. My last trip was this past December to take European delivery of a new BMW in Munich. I drove around Germany, Austria, Slovakia, and Hungary and spent a couple days in London on my way home. Prior to that, in March 2014 I spent two weeks traveling to India, Malaysia, and Indonesia. I was actually in Kuala Lumpur Airport on March 11, 2014 the very evening that MH370 went missing. I was on a flight from Kuala Lumpur to Denpasar which departed a couple of hours before MH370. I was in the Malaysia Airlines Golden Club lounge and sat amongst many of the passengers who went missing on that tragic flight. So sad.

Aside from travel, I like to shoot powder burners as well. I bought a FN Herstal SCAR17 (7,62/.308WIN) earlier this year and enjoy using it to shoot targets between 200-500 yards. I also enjoy the outdoors, especially the desert. I spend a lot of time with my 10 year old yellow lab who has traveled more than most humans LOL.

I've been a truck driver for 9 years . 2 years for BOR driving the service truck, 5 years for Pepsi, 2 years for FEDEX freight, and now I'm a stay home dad raising my 3 year old girl which is the best job out of all the jobs I had. Becoming a stay at home dad resulted in a lot of quiet time when my little girl went down for naps. During my daughter's naps, I needed something to do that didn't include riding my dirt bike and that's how I got in to air rifles. I actually sold my dirt bike and my 4x4 truck to buy me a shoebox compressor, carbon fiber tank, a shop compressor, and gifts for my wife (do not forgot about the wife)

Before the shooting bug bit me a couple months ago all my time and money went towards canoeing. Love to paddle, nearly always solo (except for the dog). Mostly day trips but try to get a longer trip or two in each year.

Over the last few years I built a couple wood strip canoes but when I needed a couple particular designs that weren't available I decided to start designing my own. So to occupy myself this past winter I designed and built 3 strippers. Two for me and one donated to the local nature center to raffle at their spring fund raiser.

Just finishing up the last one this weekend. Later this summer it will take me and the dog on a 30+ day solo trip in Ontario. That is if I don't spend all my money on air guns between now and then.

A progress pic of the one I'm finishing up. First foray into using some carbon fiber to cut weight and add strength:

And a more traditional one that I donated the labor for the fundraiser:

Nice work on the canoes. Very nice shop! Now that you are into air gunning, and with your skills, you might consider custom air gun stocks?

Im into ADV motorcycle riding, looking for a group to ride the Rockys soon. I hunt, fish, and am just getting into some wood working. I also shoot powder burners and muzzle loaders. I always have a nice veg garden. The major time killer is updating my old house.
