Weird to ask on here I know, but what the heck... I'd like some opinions.
I ordered a scope on ebay (yeah yeah I know...). Its now 12 days late past the estimated arrival date and the tracking has not been updated since the 6th where it says "arrived at sorting facility, in transit- arriving late". This was priority 2 day mail. Obviously its lost in limbo somewhere, I can wait as its not the end of the world but at what point do I contact the seller? 2 weeks? 3 weeks? a month? Obviously it has insurance on it so if it doesn't come someone should get paid right? I KNOW its not the sellers fault and I feel absolutely terrible about asking them for assistance with the issue as they did everything correct and its all USPS fault.. I don't know what to do. My other packages shipped later have all came now (all late, but they were updated along the way and all have arrived). I feel this one is just lost in a facility somewhere, I'm sure it will get to me when its found and back in line but how long is appropriate to wait? As far as I am aware its the sellers responsibility to do the replacement/insurance part of a package lost in shipping as they have the receipts and paperwork.
Would it be totally out of line if I contact the seller 2 weeks after the estimated arrival date and asked for a replacement to be sent and promise to return one if/when they both do arrive? I mean I'd like to shoot that gun sometime...
