Up Date: What did I do wrong

What's it cost per shot now on the 50 and 338 rolling your own?

From 3 to 8 bucks depends if you use production over the counter bullets or custom from bullet smiths. They use gobs of powder when you throw the lever on the powder measure it's like flushing the toilet. The air rifles we shoot are expensive but very inexpensive to shoot. The main reason I started to shoot air guns is the calif Fish and Game will no longer allow lead to be shot when hunting. I shoot Ground squirrels and they were exempt from the lead ban but no more.

Out to 125 yards we use rim fire 17 hmr, 22lr and 22 mag. We have not found a lead free round in those cals that you could hit the side of a barn with. I was reading the new lead law and at the very bottom of the rules it says Air Guns Exempt. Eureka !!!

So most of my friends are getting into the Air Rifles for varmint hunting to get around the no lead law for powder burners. I think this accounts for the rapid swell of interest and sales.

I received my 3rd Regulator from Huma today it is for the 2nd gen impact. And low and behold the have a longer piston in the kit and all the bags have new labels on them. They now have language on them stating it is a 2nd gen regulator. I will install tomorrow and test.

I have been emailing back and forth and Saturday they said I might have got a first gen piston and to drop in a piece of plastic into the bore of receiver. I thought that this was a not so good of a repair and told them so. I have not received an answer yet. I will be sending them an email requesting 2 new longer pistons. I will keep you posted.
