What can I used to clean the objective lens on my Bushnell Legend?

Isopropyl or denatured alcohol won’t damage the coatings assuming the scope is less than 20 years old. Lens coatings on photographic lenses have been pretty resilient since the late seventies. Scope lenses probably from the eighties. If it is a AO scope the grease on the AO is probably starting to break down and separate then leech on to the element. Lens makers had some problems in the early 2000’s with some plastic helicoids leaching oil from the plastic but I can’t imagine any manufacturer having that problem recently. Quality of lubricants is one of the things that manufactures sometimes fudge on. Clean the edge with alcohol with a lightly moistened q-tip then re clean with your Kodak lens cleaner and lens tissue. It won’t solve the problem but it will look better until it needs cleaned again.
