What are your thoughts on fx maverick. 30 cal..

I'm thinking of moving up to a 30 cal and was wondering what you think of the maverick vp with fx/donny moderator . Will this gun be somewhat backyard friendly and do you think I'm making the correct choice with metal air tube ? How many shots will I get and I plan on just shooting pellets for target /pesting . In the past i said i would never go higher than a 25 but I guess I'm very curious and possibly a little bored with 177,22,25 :(

Have the Maverick in .30 with a Ronin on it and can fire it in my backyard; with appropriate backstop of course. I can’t give you shot count numbers as i have a carbon fiber bottle on it and it’s a 300bar bottle at that. I shoot slugs with it for hunting but enjoy the pellets in the yard because the lower bc and speeds but still achieve the ft/lbs needed for 🦝 or possum’s.
I initially had the Maverick in .25 but purchased the caliber change kit for the extra power without having to try and overpower the .25 for ethical kills on some midsize game…

I have the Maverick compact in .30 and have a Ronin on it. I’m impressed with how quiet it is but the 45-50 grain pellets sound like a hammer hitting anything solid which might alert And unnerve some neighbors. It’s my first bull pup rail gun and I’m not in love with how it feels. It shoots the .30 Hades very well but I put it away after getting a GRS Dreamline in .22 which I’m likening a lot better. I will get it out this summer and try some bench shooting out at 100 yds. And then decide if I keep it. I wish now that I had gotten the VP just for a little more velocity out at 100 yd.

It's a hammer!!! First thing you'll notice is it has some recoil pushing those cannon ball pellets!

Truthfully I enjoy shooting .22 and .25 more and ammo is a lot cheaper too!

But I keep it just for putting some smack down on varmints...hits really hard on woodchuck sized game! I put a 480cc carbon bottle on mine but if remember right it got 3 good mags on high power with the aluminum bottle and second reg at 150 bar...

So I have the Maverick in .25 Actually and was also thinking of getting the barrel kit to switch over to .30. I did buy my M3 in .30 cal to do some heavier plinking/hunting, especially in the colder months when it gets windy. I think the .30 just pushed through the wind at 100 yards so much easier maintaining superior accuracy. I highly suggest going for a .30 or at least getting the barrel kit to switch back and forth.

Love it. Got a Maverick compact that I put a larger bottle on. Of course needed the smaller mod, but noise isnt an issue where I live.

It has some thump and is accurate. I will readily admit I'm still in the 'Honeymoon phase' with it as I've only had it a few months. But so far, I like it.... although I will admit I usually pick up the Impact Compact in .25 when I want to shoot.
