AoA had a used Wildcat synthetic for $895 earlier today. If the budget is for the gun only, it's OK, as you can buy a Streamline as well for the budget. If the budget has to cover tanks, fill systems, and more, then no, it's probably not enough.

Brocock Compatto or bantam. I also seen the wildcat on AoA's site. Honestly I would get something new over the wildcat.

Shooting beyond 100 yds. is a massive challenge for an airgun. At that range do not consider anything less than a .25 cal or an equally wind affected .22

In the $1k category I'd also have to say a .25 Streamline, though I think your 150yd goal is a little ambitious for a pellet gun. W/ some skill by the nut behind the trigger 100yds is very doable.
I've got this exact gun and I hardly shoot it anymore since I am having a love affair with a .30 Impact. Last 10 times to the field and I've probably gotten the Streamline out twice. Not a thing wrong with it, I just like the Impact so much.
If you can stretch to $2k and you like the look of the Impact (some don't) it's by far the better weapon.
Another gun to consider is the EdGun R5M. Comes in .177,.22,.25 and is another sub $2k gun that is supposed to be a tack driver. I'm getting a Long in .177 for FT competition. Was going to just get another Impact, but I like variety so am going to try the EdGun.
Be prepared to spend some coin on a good scope. I've tried a bunch of them and have found the Athlon FFP scopes to be the cream of the crop. I have three of the Argos and now have started buying Helos for the better turrets. Yea, it's $550, but IMHO well worth the extra coin. The Argos can be had for $350 and it is a very good FFP scope.
