Well it started out to be a good day

Hey Bioman, I see that you are using a deadhead with a gauge. I made one exactly the same and because the parts were so cheap, I made one with a male plug as well. One reads 100 PSI high and the other 100 low. Not bad for a couple of bucks each.

Yes, I made the deadhead to check the pressures in a few guns I have that do not have gauges. I know what you mean on the accuracy of the gauges. I also use it to cap the line on my fill system, when it's not in use, past the filter so the filter desicant does not suck in moisture and shorten it's lifespan. I often strikes me as a bit as a bit odd that so many people do the same exact thing without being in touch with one another. I see it time and time again.

Anyone know if there is a way of telling if you are getting the newer model when you buy a Yong Heng. I suspect sellers on E-Bay are getting rid of the old versions as some show they have sold a pretty large quantity and now only have a few left.

I did send a question to one who actually responded and said it was the older version. That surprised me a bit.

I bought my Yong Heng one and a half year ago from the official on-line shop of Yong Heng in China. As far as I know the parts that have been upgraded over this period of time are the 1st and 2nd stage pistons. Although the original pistons of my Yong Heng are still in good shape, I replaced them just for precaution. A member of this forum bought his Yong Heng at later time and found that it has got the new 1st stage piston but apparently the old 2nd stage piston as it broke after some use. From the outside, it is impossible to tell which version of these parts are used so I would suggest you to ask a trust worthy vendor like the Yong Heng official shop on Aliexpress. For your reference here are some info on the old and new pistons :

This is the one I bought. says its 6000psi? Anyways its been running strong for 2 years now and I paid less than 200 shipped to my door. It tops off a very large c/f bottle (106cu/ft) to 300bar. Its not a Y/H, its got less tubing/simpler looking.  Anyway just thought I'd share.

If YH is not making them then they buy them from another vendor and resell them as their own!

I think they are all similar, I couldn't say who manufactures them. Another thing about the one I bought said it was 6000psi not that ive ever run it over 4350psi as thats the max on the bottle I own. Also the gauge on it go's to 6000psi and says Japan on it???

OK, I finally got the parts for my Yong Heng but having trouble removing the brass piece that holds the lower ring on. Anybody know if it screws off, screws off with heat or pulls off?

Edit; OK figured it out the top two rings screw off, bottom stays on, and these were only finger tight, no locktight, that is why they backed off and the piston banged against the head and broke. Bad factory werqers evil. ;^(
