Well I didn’t see this one coming....

So I’ve been spending a lot of time tuning for Nielsen 33.5 in .25.

Got a Huma Dual TP, and an FX pin probe for my MK2 Impact.

Got the 700 mm Superior Heavy liner...

Fixed leak at the high side gauge and thought I was finally onto to good results, and they were.
Had heard that 38.5 gn Nielsen and The Impact didn’t get a long too good but I had a box of them lying around.
This particular target was cherry picked but the other targets weren't too bad maybe just a hair above MOA at 112 yards.

5 shot group Four in the same hole and my usual loner shot at 4 o clock Four shot group measured 0.351 at 112 yd

930 FPS at Max and 133 Bar on the reg

Sigh, guess more testing is in order. Just when I thought that it was safe to get into the water.

Is anyone shooting these 38.5’s w any good results?

If I average all the targets shot with 33.5 and 38.5 on that day, the 33.5 squeezed by with better numbers but 33.5’ have never come close to a target like this.

I have my gun tuned for the 36.2 slugs but the 38.5 did as good @880fps and cost a little more. So for now I’m getting the results and speeds the gun and myself with the 36.2 @110bar. Some others are having great luck as well with the 43 slugs from nsa, all the.250 slugs from nsa do well the impacts . Nice to know all the options and have fun shooting.

Drumsguns, Yesterday I shot a target that looks very similar to yours. I've also been shooting the NSA 33.5 gr in my FX Crown. I've got the STX Superior liner installed and have also seriously been thinking of getting the Superior heavy and Huma Dual port transfer port to see if I can get a little better velocity. At my tune now I'm at 135 bar, hammer 5 and getting about 820 fps. Since I've been sorting, and cleaning my NSA's my groups have gotten a lot better without near as many flyers. If I keep getting 1 MOA groups like yesterday I may not want to get the Superior heavy liner.

Nice groups gentlemen. The transfer port might be the best upgrade I’ve done in terms of FPS. Pin probe a close second. The superior heavy liner shoots about 20fps slower with my setup than does the standard superior, and I’ve had better groups with the standard superior with Nielsen 33.5 and under. Just my experience.

I’m tempted to put the heavy back in to try out the Nielsen 34.9’s that have been shooting well out of the standard superior.

I also seem to have better luck with dish base slugs (Nielsen 29.0, 34.9) than I do with flat base. Which is the opposite of what I hear most of the time. So take my experience with a grain of salt.
