Well, I did it - bought me an FX Wildcat .25

"Matt247365"
"Mick44"Any of you Wildcat owners having any issues with air leakage. Just read a few posts of Air problems with the FX impact. This my first post. Just joined the other day. Great site.
Bought my Wildcat in August 2016. Shoot it almost every day. No leakage issues to report. No issues at all actually.

Matt

Sweet, what kind of moderator is on the front? Does it make the Wildcat quieter than the factoy's?

"DuncanHynes"How many shots you .25cal guys get? My .22 is 40 down right at 150BAR from 235. My 18gr JSBs do 931,931, 924, 924. 21gr 826fps.
I'll have to air up my Wildcat .25 to 230 bar and see how many shots I get at a consistent velocity, I'll shoot it down to 150 bar and then go on down a tad more

When I first got the .25, I shot one mag-worth of JSB Match Diablo Kings (25.39 gr) pellets through it and averaged 905 fps with those 8.

"DuncanHynes"So a .22 is 32fpe (18 at 900fps) a
.25 is 45fpe with your 25+gr doing 905fps. Cool. Just wondering shot count.
Yep, I was impressed with my Wildcat .25 - actual numbers yielded 46.187 KE (25.39 gr x 905 fps)

When I shot my Royale 400 (.22) on its max power setting, the actual numbers yielded 32.1 KE (H&N domed 21.3 gr x 823.1 fps).

Royale on Med power - 17.9 KE (H&N Domed 21.3 gr x 614.5 fps)

Royale on Lowest power setting - never tested it.

Okay, I shot the .25 Wildcat 56 times today (7 mags worth of pellets) on one charge of 230 Bar. The pellets were JSB Match Diablo, 25.39 gr.

Shots 1-45 were all above 901 fps. The average for shots 1-45 was 911.8 fps (46.883 KE). The lowest was 902 fps (shots #4 and 6) and the highest was 920 fps (shot #32)

Like I said, when I began shooting there was 230 Bar in the Wildcat ..25. The last shot above 900 fps took the .25 Wildcat to a Bar of 137.5.

For shots after shot #45, fps's went downhill pretty steadily.
Shot #45 - 903 fps (137.5 Bar)
#46 - 894

#50 - 886
#51 - 876

#55 - 858
#56 - 853 (120 Bar)

I once had an Mrood in .25 caliber and it never shot as long as the Wildcat, but of course, it wasn't regulated, either.

"DuncanHynes"Great info. Clearly 45 to 48 shots before the low end comes into play. I have read on several occations that a Wildcat regulator 'hates' shots under 150BAR, but not entirely sure why. Ernest told me a .22 will get less than a .25cal so your numbers back it up. I'll leave you big bore guys be now.
Looks to me like my Wildcat reg performs fine down to 137.5 Bar, however, in the future, I going to slow down shooting when Bar gets to around 150, and not go below 140 Bar. Or after I've shot five 8-pellet mags (40 pellets( on one charge.

My new Wildcat .25 will be here tomorrow. I will be hiding 700 stuffed Easter Eggs for my sons 2nd grade class when it arrives.
I have done a lot of research on the Wildcat and have probably watched every video on YouTube. Some people think it's to long. Well, I can only compare it to the 2 Hatsan AT44 10's I own. With moderators it's like looking down a 50 Cal. and weighs about the same. LOL
I have tons of the JSB's and will be gunning ground squirrels, pigeons, and Ring neck turtle doves over the weekend. I'm as excited as a kid at Christmas. ( I'm 66 years young ).
Thanks to you and all who have posted on the Wildcat. I think it's an amazing innovation.

I started with the mrod and saved my money for the 30 impact. Shot great for about 8 months then I got a major leak. I sent it back to AOA they put new seals in it and it shoots better than new. I was happy with it before I am really happy with it now just hope that is the last time I have that problem. It is nice to have 1 gun that does everything I expect it to do.

spectr17Just got mine 2 weeks ago. I got the Hawke 4x16x50 sidewinder scope with it. Been shooting FX pellets so i appreciate the recommendations on the other pellets to try. thanks.

I'm also looking for a sling for it. I see bipods mounted to this gun so Im assuming I can drill the stock for a sling swivel. Anyone use a sling on theirs yet?

I installed a sling swivel stud on the rear and a flush swivel cup in the forearm. Enjoy, Scott
