If you started (or come across) a topic within the PCP section that is worthy of being moved to the Big Bore section, please "Flag" the topic and request for it to be moved.

We hope you enjoy the new addition!

PS: caliber shouldn't be the only deciding factor for this section. What amount of energy do you think should qualify as a big bore? 150 ft-lb, 200 ft-lb, 250 ft-lb, or greater? Please comment below.

Good, should be less searching to do if folks start putting any and all big bore questions and info here starting with the .30 cal.

In the description of this section I also in included "Big power" because caliber isn't the only factor in play here. That being said I wouldn't consider your typical off-the-shelf .30 caliber a big bore.

Good because I know there is a lot of confusion when the word Big Bore comes up, now Big Power can go a long way and that’s why I put .30 there, to see what would come up as far as caliber goes so now you have answered my question or you have clarified it. Thanks Michael..

At this time I'm thinking that anything over 150 ft-lb would qualify, but I'm waiting for others to chime in.

Good move Michael. Would a Texan .257 generating 175 fpe be considered a big bore?

Yes I would think so.

The Texan .257 should be listed as Big Power or else the .30 would have to be listed as big bore being a off the shelf Texan .30 puts up around 300 fpe but then again the Texan kinda falls under its own category being they are listed as big bores and have big power.

Anyway I’m glad you started a Big Bore/Big Power thread now maybe will see more talk about 357-40-45 and 50 caliber airguns, Again thanks.

its hump day had to throw that out there😁.

I agree. It starts with .30 in my book but I wanted to start a conversation and get other folks opinions being this does come up periodically and folks do bump heads on it quite a bit.

This is another reason that I liked Michael adding in BIG POWER, it adds to the conversation and yes the Texan.257 does have Power.

Big Bore MUST be enough energy to take larger game and Typical off the shelf big name multi shot .30's can't fill the bill.

I would say above .25 Caliber, Slug Shooters that make 150 ft/lb or more. NO PELLETS allowed!

Then there are Extreme Big Bores the upper range of which is 1 shot then refill, Helium working gas, 1150 grain to 1600 grain bullet at 82 caliber, 834 fps making 1776+ ft/lb.
