Welcome to AIRGUN NATION - please introduce yourself here!

Hello everybody, Wordsaw from Texas here. Got my first air gun in 1967, a Daisy Pal, and I've been in love with them ever since. In the mid-1980s I bought an RWS model 45, which still shoots like new. Most recently I have ordered a Crosman 2400kt from the custom shop and I'm waiting for it to arrive. Like probably most of y'all I'm amazed at how air gun technology has exploded over the last few years. Anyway, I joined the forum to get up to speed on the latest and maybe share stories. Thanks.

Mn. Newbie here. I've been involved in the shooting sports (shotgun - clay targets) for nearly 50 years but enjoy back yard plinking as well. I shoot RWS springer out of the warm basement and into the woods in the winter months. Beats standing in the snow, calling pull and watching for signs of frostbite. I've been wanting to enter the PCP arena and after stumbling onto this site, I'm sure of it. Some of the shotgun sites can be a bit intimidating as some of the old salts can come down pretty hard on newbies but I've seen none of that here! Everyone seems egar to answer questions and offer advice without a hint of sarcasm or condescension. The PCP section seemed like a masters level course to me at first but what I've read here over the last few weeks has helped make it seem much less complicated. One other thing - I like nice guns! When I get that PCP it's going to be a good one. After following aa.limited for a couple of weeks, I think I know just what it'll be. Can't say how great it is for this old guy to be excited about shooting again!

Big warm hello to everyone, Ive been a firearms enthusiast, Bow enthusiast for over 30+ years. I am now getting into air gunning for critter control and fun. I am well versed in most firearm use and aim a fair shot with a Bow as well. I came here to hunt the classified ads in search of a good deal and make some friends along the way. Anyone needs firearm help in the San Diego area, I have tools, knowledge and am willing to help.

Hello. I used to shoot often when I was young with my Dad. About a year ago, I introduced airguns to my 6 year old boy.
Then found the PCP rabbit hole and sunk into the deep end. What started 16 months ago with a red ryder and break barrel has resulted in a whole bunch of air guns, from Sig Sauer MCX/MPX CO2(yes, we have both!) to CO2 hand guns, to PCP air rifles(Benjamin Armada and W.A.R Flex 357).

Great time to be shooting these hi-tech guns.

Best,
Frank

"farrahUSMC" what is a decent after market alternative to the gamo scope ?
@farrahUSMC, Depends on your buying philosophy and budget. I stick to the low end stuff (re: cheap) 'cause that's all I can justify at this time. I've had very good experiences with Niko-Stirling 4x32 AO and Barska 3-9x32 AO scopes on my springers. If you prefer and/or can afford higher quality go to YouTube and search for "Airgun Classics" featuring Joe Rhea. Joe's an active member here an a go-to source for scope info, from $100 to $500+... and he has owned or at least used every scope he reviews. Happy scope hunting!

My Gamo Swarm Maxxim came in today using the bundled optic and Crossman primier hollow pt 14.3gr already gone through 1 tin (500pellets) got it to shoot 1/4in groups @ 25yrs consistently now quite happy with it. I don't think an upgrade in optic is necessary but still I'm going to get the Hawke airmax EV 3-9x40 AO just for poops and giggles and next year around tax refund time thinking about going Hatsan 125 sniper vortex, not quite ready for PCP yet unless its the Umarex Gauntlet (those things are near impossible to be available unless urs a YouTube star) so guess us peons gonna have to wait :(

Hello to all.

My name is "Buckeye", and I have been lurking in the shadows gathering info from all of the knowledgeable members on this great forum. I am from Ohio.

This airgun technology has come a long way since my Crosman 760 that i got for Xmas when i was 10. My next step up was a Beeman R1that i bought 32 years ago, it still shoots pretty good, but needs something done to get it back up to speed. Now the bug has bit me after listening to all of you to get my first PCP rifle.

I was informed today that my Gauntlet .22 has shipped, and i should have it by Friday. Man do I have a ton of questions, this PCP tech has my head spinning.

The scope that i am going to put on the gun is a Vortex Viper 2.5-10 x 44, I am guessing this should be fine to start with and to get me passed the obstacle of choosing a scope. I watched a ton of videos on Youtube. By the way, Joes videos are very well done and helped alot. I decided to take the Vortex off of my AR and try it on the new gun. do i have to worry about recoil with a PCP like I did with my R1?

Here is the big Question, how to fill my tank on the gun? I do have access to a local FD to fill a tank. Can i just fill the tank on the gun from FD source? I plan on getting a second gun tank for backup.
My other thought is renting one of those huge tanks and fill it and use to fill my gun tanks. Is this easily done? What kind of fittings do i need to go from Huge tank to gun tanks? I don't think i am ready to go the route of those carbon fiber tanks or a compressor since i have access to filling at a FD that is 5 minutes from home. Let me know what all of you think so i can get to shooting.

Thanks to all for sharing your wisdom with me, sorry for rambling on, but like i said, sooo many questions.

Have a great week, and don't swallow your pellets!
Scott

Hello, Im Cliff from Houston Texas. I love all things that shoot, I really like airgunning the most i guess. Trigger time is therapy time for me. I've been a forum lurker for several years,a shooter for all my life(34 years). My airguns are FX wildcat 22 with a DonnyFL Ronin LCD, Marauder 25, and RWS 460 22. PCP air source its a Yong Heng compressor and a 90CI scba tank from airtanksforsell. Anyhow i'm looking forward to chating and helping people here at airgunnation. Have a great day!

Greetings from Jacksonville, Fl. Marc B. here to introduce myself to a new and much welcomed air gun forum. Left the hobby several years ago after going through numerous airguns and went to powder burners. Still have those but wound up purchasing a high end rifle from a member of a non-air gun site. Well seems like I’m back because my first post on this forum was to purchase Steve’s Edgun Matador. This is my second post and will surely be hanging out here to further my old Addiction.

Hello all, Justin Scott here known on various forums as Stumper or Treeman. Like many others I had a Daisy BB gun as a boy. Moved up into Springer pellet rifles and Multi-pump pneumatics as a teen in Botswana where I was able to hunt a lot of small game. I've always had some airguns around ever since(age 54 now) but have spent more of my time with powder burners. Still love firearms but am enjoying playing a bit more with air guns lately.

Hello Guys,
My name is Jim and I live in Scotland UK, where we are restricted to sub 12lbs airguns.
However the plus side is that we have a great shot count on a full bottle of air but lack a little knock down power.
I have not posted a lot on the forum so far as I have newly joined but I have read through some of the members questions and answers and I have learned some great tips and advice.
A big shout out to Ted for creating this forum and his awesome videos on U-Tube.
I hope to be around a bit but as I say even if I am not posting I am reading and learning from more experienced members on here.
Thanks for having me.

My Name is Kevin and I am a Old Geezer who lives on the East Side of South Dakota. I am originally from East Texas; however I married a Yankee and have been living in "exile" up here for about 10 winters.

I have always had a old springer around, but I was not "into" Airguns before I started exploring the web a few weeks ago looking for a replacement Rifle. WOW! I had no idea that the humble "Air Gun" had come so far!

In any case it has my interest and I have now ordered my new Rifle and I am going to stay tuned. I have loved to shoot for as long as I can remember (Took my first shot when I was about 5 years young; found some old 22LR bullets, a Brick and a HAMMER).

My name is Robert and I'm here to observe, learn, and inject little tidbits I may have learned (the hard way of course). My journey with air rifles spans back to since I was a kid (I'm 46 now). Over the years have done a lot of shooting with pistols (powder burners) and rifles too but finding that air rifles are more of a challenge.

Not had a lot of luck with air rifles in general recently, and on my quest I've arrived here! Look forward to reading, learning, and hopefully one day helping someone else avoid my usual way of doing things- the hard way!
