Welcome to AIRGUN NATION - please introduce yourself here!

Hello,

My name is Cliff. After growing up with a crossman pumper in my hands as a kid, I started looking at airguns a few years ago to get back into the hobby (30 years later) and was swept up in how far the technology has come. Now I'm an addict. :) I currently shoot a BSA R-10 MK2, Hatsan At44-10 QE Long .25, and a HW97kt .177. I recently sold a FX Royale 500 to Pedro in PR (great guy to deal with BTW) that was in my opinion, the best airgun I've owned, and I've got the urge to get another FX, maybe the new Bobcat MK2 in .25. I've bought and sold several airguns over the past few years and I'm a self admitted FX fan. My old handle on the other forum was Diggity95 but I've since deleted that account and just decided to use my actual name on this forum. Looking forward to being a member here and wish everyone the best!

Regards,
Cliff

Hello my name is Willie,
I live in north east Texas, I like to hunt fish and do wood turning. I have always liked precision shooting.
for practice I used to shoot tic tacs off a 2x4 at 100 feet with an pump up crossman as a kid, in school I joined into ROTC so I could shoot in the rifle squad, I never was able to compete because of my grades however.

I have three hog traps set up on some friends hay fields and in looking for a quite way to hunt them stumbled onto the big bore air rifles since then have been saving nickels and dimes trying to get the money up to get one

Ok Ok
I have been on here for a while and decided to introduce myself.
I live in New York State.... about mid state right by the PA border.

I started off just trying to get rid of red squirrel. My father in law let me borrow a Diana 34...
Oh my, I enjoyed the gun to much. Bought a few break barrels , I just could not hit a bull in the ass
I thought it was great when I could hit a one inch target at 20 yards...so

I decided to hunt and shoot with a Benjamin 392 .... not bad.. but second shots took so long.
Moved on to a Benjamin Discovery .22.... now that really got my attention... what a squirrel killer... loved it.
So ... I decided to try Marauders.... advanced to owning 4 , pistol and 1 rifle of each caliber.
Then that was not enough... I decided to try a AT-44 pump long Hatson and the ATp1 Pistol .25

As I progressed I hated that damn hand air pump... I was shooting so much..I had to rebuild it often.. Easy to do but a pain.
I decided to purchase a Shoebox compressor and I built me a adjustable fill station - Scott 300 Bar Steel Tank. (heavy).. with adjustable regulator with gauges and nice on off valve..no fiddling with tank valve... (sweet)

I wanted more..... so I decided on a whim to get the BSA r-10... oh my... that gun is sure sweet. Not much I can't hit now. Love this gun.
But I want more...in the future... not sure what but I will.

Now I am making another fill bottle that can attach to the setup I have now....just by adding a hose I can have one or two tanks charging the fill station.... This time I am using a Scott SCBA carbon fiber 30 minute tank... much lighter... (oh My)
All this has happened in less than two years... so see (I AM ADDICTED)
I shoot almost every night right before dark....

I enjoy this forum and every video I can find on You Tube...
I have so much to learn ... and like watching the big boys show me the way....

Oh yea..... please never tell my wife how much I have invested... she has no idea. ;-)

Hello All, I'm Ryan, Started out with Airguns as a kid, daisy's and crosmans. Had a Crosman 66 that I could hit anything with when I was a teen. as many do, I graduated to firearms and never looked back, until I needed something to manage pests in my backyard. Bought a Benjamin Trail NP XL in .22 and wasn't accurate with it.. I felt let down, however I didn't know anything about the artillery hold. So I started researching other air guns and stumbled upon Ted's YouTube channel. I was hooked!!!! Based on his and some other reviews I purchased a Marauder .25 and it's been a backyard pest nemesis! However, I felt I needed something more! Thanks Ted........ I bit the bullet(pellet) and purchased a FX Bobcat .22 and there's been no turning back! Been impressed with it and so are most guys at my club. I get the "That's a pellet gun!" all the time. Without the information that all the individuals who have a passion for airguns put out there. I'd have never stuck with it and would have given up after the NP. Thanks for giving me a great new hobby!

I am Louis, old guy living in Middle Tennessee.
First and only airgun as a kid was the 22 cal pump up pistol and over time it died and with it my interest in airguns.
Somewhere inthe late 70s I needed a garden pest eliminator and got a 760 to fulfill the role. later a 2200 or some such.

Then it was the Benji 342() pistola sitting there all lonely in a pawn shop followed by a Daisy 717/747, never can remember which it is.

Desire for a airgun that I could do something with hit and I started looking at one of the chinewerkbows at Compessco's web site. As it happened they had someone at the next gun show and as we talked I told him about the recommendations from the folks I had talked to at the headquarters in KY. He recommended a model he had there and I said that is not what they had said on the phone because had said I wanted to hunt squirrels with it also. He said that was the model he used to hunt and they recommended the other because they were office staff not users.

Let me tell you it was a shooting son of a gun.

She broke down and there was not near the support there is now on the web and Compasseco had been bought out.

Had several chinese guns over the years and they always took care of business, but just barely. Business being cowbird and grackle scare tactics. Cowbirds and starlings have learned there are better places to be, but grackles still invade morning, noon, and night . . . literally.

Like others here watching Ted's channel and one day he is talking about a Benji Discovery combo deal. There have been trials and tribulations with it, but I am hoping it will stay 100% operational. Discovery is indeed the most accurate airgun I have ever owned and so even what it is out of the box, so much better trigger than the winchester1028 I was shooting before getting the Disco. The Discos pump is earning it's keep and I hve no plans on bottled air in the near future. Too bad there was such pitiful paperwork on "care and feeding" packed with the pump, I would like to get several good years of service out of it with proper lubing and seal replacements. Withe the humidity being what it has been lately I thinking it is time to add a air dryer to the pump to protect the internals of the gun.

Already looking for an HGAT 44 Long to gain some velocity to reach the 57 yards to the driveway with adequate power.

That's bout it for me, I hunt, fish, work and then piddle the rest of the time.

I am Norton. I participate on Glock Talk and a couple of other forums. Mostly a powder burner, reloader and bullet caster, but I also have a selection of air guns. My principal air gun shooting is with an RWS 56th and a Hammerli Pneuma precharged air rifle. Have been watching Teds video's for a few years now and always enjoy his input and expertise. I am a target shooter and plinker. At one time I was a bird hunter (pheasant, quail) but haven't done that in years. I have a life long love of guns and my first was a Daisy pump BB gun.

Jeremy from Ohio. I got into airguning probably 6 years ago when I used my older brother co2 pellet gun to shoot sparrows and such in my grandpas old barn. That didn't last long, lets just say I broke it. My next airgun was a Crosman 760 when I was 10. Then for Christmas one year I got a Gamo Bone collector. I thought it was going to be a great gun. 1300 fps! Thought it was great until I started shooting it and my scope flew off and it turned into a big mess. Then 2 years ago for christmas I got a RWS Diana .177. It worked great and I didn't have many problems with it unless I was actually trying to hit something. Eventually I learned the Artillery hold for springers and it shot great. I still have that gun but it needs the spring replaced. I enjoy all kinds of hunting from pests to big game and everything in between, and not just with airguns. I play baseball, basketball and soccer. Hoping to get a marauder .22 for my 15th birthday.

Hello, I go by John or Beach, your preference. I stumbled on to Ted's videos about 4 months ago, and have binge watched my way thru most of them. That got me hooked on airguns, and I recently bought a Marauder in .25 caliber. I haven't decided which way to go regarding an air supply. Large carbon fiber tank and a visit to the scuba shop 30 miles away or a small carbon fiber tank and a suitcase compressor. Needing to pull the trigger soon as it's killing me to have the Marauder and not be able to shoot it.

Hey friends, my name is Mike and I'm a total noob. I'm just in the beginning stages of learning about air guns. I have been a gun shooter and owner all my life. I am a former police officer and SWAT Team member, so needless to say I do have some gun knowledge. Yes I said former. I am now a Pediatric Intensive Care Flight Nurse. I'm the guy flying around in the helicopter transporting critically ill and injured kids. You didn't think there was a cooler job than SWAT did you? Ha! Well, I found one! I have the best job in the world. Anyway, I have always had an interest in airguns, and now it's time to learn some more. I want to learn a bunch, follow the advice from you experienced guys and buy something that I'll love for a long time.
Thanks in advance for answering all of my annoying questions. My wife is going to kill me. I have way too many hobbies!

Hello,

Steve is my name. I live in Scotland. The gun I hold dear is the Zephyr - a tuned HW77k from the mid eighties - although I also have two Air Arms PCPs. Mainly a target shooter. My enthusiasm for the science is compelling - I guess I'm trying to find the technical edge to overcome a deficiency in marksmanship.

Oh, and into motorbikes (Triumph Tiger, Honda CBF1000, Scorpa SY 250) and quads (Suzuki LTR250, Honda 'Big Red')

Hey Guys,

My name is Mark Kauffman and I live in Phoenix, Arizona. I transplanted here back in the late 1980's from just outside of Philadelphia, PA so that I could train, practice, and shoot year round when I was trying out for the US Shooting team. I have been shooting competitively since the late 1970's in most of the pistol games but came to enjoy and love airgunning the most. My first exposure to shooting anything was while in Boy Scouts at summer camp when I was 11 years old. My first exposure to field target was in the early 1990's when Brett Reno gave a presentation at one of the weekly night shoots at Phoenix Rod & Gun Club. I came out to see what it was all about, tried it, met some great folks who are lifelong friends to this day, and the rest is history.

I have been the secretary of Airgunners of Arizona field target club for a bunch of years and can honestly say that the members have literally changed my life. I have stated, on a number of occasions, that the monthly club shoots are my mental health therapy sessions. These are people that I look forward to seeing and shooting with each and every month, year in and year out. These friendships will last a lifetime, much the same as with my brothers in the fire department, and my brothers that I marched with in drum corps.

I have waaay too many air guns, but enjoy each and every one of them, whether they be pre-charged pneumatics, spring piston, or single or multi-stroke pneumatics. They are all fun and give me many hours of relaxed enjoyment.

If you are in the Phoenix area and want to shoot field target with the club, check our web site for the monthly schedule; www.airgunnersofarizona.org

Hi, All,
I'm John, I live in California, Got into airguns at age 13 by sneaking a daisy bb gun into my room, always was interested in hunting but never had anyone to teach me. Got a FWB 124 in the 80's sold it to raise funds for an HW55. Still have that one & that was all I needed to protect the property from ground squirrels till the "perfect storm" in 2010 when suddenly there were squirrels virtually EVERYWHERE! After a year of messing with cheapies I ended up with an R9 in .22 and later fell into PCPs and now have 2 Marauders, .22 &.25, both great shooters.Mostly I plink & pest and hunt a few rabbits and birds here and there. I'm interested in the higher end PCPs but I doubt spending twice the cash on guns and fill set up would get me twice the enjoyment & accuracy the Marauders & R9 deliver. That's my story (for now) and I'm sticking to it!
Shoot straight and safely,
John
