This article says 39 pounds. For me about 50 shots over 30-45 minutes were about all that was fun for me. I could definitely shoot longer or take longer in between shots but the cocking effort got a little bit much. I put a 12 fpe vortek kit in it and it transformed it into an all day shooter.
Cocking on the HW97K for me has basically two problems compared to a D54 or "one barrelled springer".
That COCKING ROD under the HW97K can easily SLIP in your cocking hand as the leverage increases.
I've not done it yet on my HW97K-T .20 but there are "handles" you can ADD on to your cocking lever to make the swing and control much more positive to make shooting the rifle substantially easier and better. Fatigue can set in on that skinny little lever they stick under there without proper grip area.
