Weihrauch HW 30S/Beeman R7

I’m fairly new to air gunning and I’m a little confused on the Weihrauch/Beeman topic. Are these two separate airgun manufacturers producing the same guns except under different names? If so why? Specifically for example, I was comparing the Weihrauch HW30S with the Beeman R7. Am I missing something here or are these two rifles identical but just sporting different names and model numbers? If they are basically the same rifle, why choose one over the other? Would appreciate any help in clearing this up for me.

Biggest difference between the Beeman R7 and the HW30S is cosmetic. For the American market Beeman specs a shortened barrel with a muzzlebreak installed on the end of the R7.

They HW has a full length barrel with no muzzlebreak.

Both guns have the same power and accuracy. Excellent guns.

To my knowledge, Beeman no longer has the muzzle brake and come with the standard HW sights. They may have a different stock finish, but otherwise are identical mechanically speaking. They are very nice rifles.

You're correct on that. The only difference I see now between the R-7 and HW30 is the gold colored trigger on the Beeman. All the older Beeman R-series rifles were optics only with nicely finished stocks and the gold trigger blade. I see no good reason to continue the Beeman line when the HW version is less expensive. My old R-7, and newer .20 R-7 with added muzzle brake. RC

All in all Fleiger both guns are basically the same. The HW line will offer you more options as far as stocks and finishing on the action (silver vs. blued) all personal choices. You still get the same great gun whichever way you spec it. Seems most people that buy one fall in love with the way they shoot and their accuracy. It's a gun you can literally shoot all day.

This is one of the gun/ scope combos you can buy right around 400.
