Weihrauch 77 in 22 cal.

I have 2 of the model 77's not the K version, this has the longer barrel. I have found the pellets to use in the 177, but have not found any info on the weight of the 22 cal that these model 77s like. I see people mentioning brands, but nothing as to the weight of the pellets. I'm shooting some crossman 14.3 HP's, which was all I could find locally, and for some reason, ordered a bunch online in that same weight area.

I have seen people saying go with the 5.52 head size, so I'm aware of these particular pellets offered in that head dia. Also I'm expecting delivery of the HW85 in 22 cal, and the HW50 in .177. I will also like some info on prefered types and weights for these as well. I'm mainly target shooting, and so domed and flat head's are fine with me. Thanks in advance.

Happy New Year to you as well, Snowing here and 20 mph winds, I think I'm staying in tonight. Thanks for the reply,at least I know I'm in the right ballpark, currently shooting the 14.3 Crossmans, but didn't think they were going all that fast. I hate thinking about getting a chrono, especially when I do most of my shooting in my basement at 5-6 yards.

I don't own a 77 but I do own a 97. What I will tell you is that you need to try a variety of pellets to find the right one, as every rifle does have a strong preference and affinity for a particular pellet, often one you don't suspect.

Most of the pellets offered are 5.52, including the Crosman you are likely shooting (or are at least said to be). My 97K shows a real strong preference for 5.53s, as does my RWS 56. The only real pellets offered in 5.53 are the H&N FTT 14.66 and the H&N Baracuda Match 21.14. While extremely heavy for most springers, the Baracuda Match 21.14 has one of the highest ballistic co-efficients available.

Everyday I try to do something nice for someone that least expects it. If you would like, you can PM to me your name and shipping address info. I would be glad to assemble an assortment of 15 or so pellets each of the pellets I have on hand and send them to you to try, if you will reimburse me for the shipping charge. We can use USPS flat rate and it shouldn't be much.

I think it is crazy that with all of the resources we have on this forum that each of us has to buy $25 worth of pellets and shipping to try a particular pellet that in the end may not work at all for our particular guns.

Happy New Year.

G’day Smithfan4152. I own a Hw77 Stainless in 22 cal with the longer barrel. I tried the FTT 14.65 gr and they were very accurate but now I only shoot the H&N Baracuda Greens 12.65 gr. They really fiz through the air and as someone said above “hit with authority “. Plus to me they are more accurate then the lead 14.65 gr.,no flyers. Haven’t tested them past 50 metres but a pest bird in the top of a tree at approximately that distance found out that he was air conditioned.
