Weight of MTC Viper Pro

Have read lots of the posts on here about that scope and the one thing many have said is the weight is a disqualifying factor. The weight was not a factor if you were a bench rest shooter but generally for pest control the weight was too much. It seems Ted and Matt use that scope for hunting.
My thoughts are I rarely shoot off hand or even sitting. I always use a Primos tripod and a Cabellas stool. I am a slow senior citizen and even though the Wildcat II has helped by it's design and weight, I still use the tripod.
I like the tape on the turret and the way it works. Do you think the weight difference would be of significance compared with a Aztec or a comparable Hawke for pest control?
Thanks!
