A few days ago, I mentioned that me and my Marauder were becoming pretty good hunting partners. Well..the relationship just continues to grow. This afternoon we took a short ride to our favorite piece of land to do some marauding. What a wonderful day it was. Did I mention that it was a wonderful day? Rather than still hunting, we decided to see what we could "walk up." It paid off pretty well . We walked most of the afternoon and ended up with a successful raid…..I mean hunt. I did something a bit different today and am glad that I did. I brought along my range finder so that I could range the shots that I make out here. I normally don't do that…I just make shots and kinda guesstimate the range. We ended up leaving early with 4 bushy tails in the poke. All but three today were head shots…popped them in the head. One was a "shoot him however we can or he's gonna get away" type of shot. We couldn't let that happen…………we are Marauders….(ya know). Anyway……….all shots taken today were 37 to 54 yards. I was able to attain those distances by range finding the tree that each squirrel fell by. The one that was not a head shot was at 42 yards. I'm a bit pleased with my new hunting partner. We aren't bench rest queens……we're a blue collar get it done kinda duo………😂 LOL.

Here are some pics from the day ………..visual aids, I guess you could say………….(I don't have video capability I don't think)

A couple of retrieved pellets…passed through the head and lodged in body….Air Arms Diabolo Field 16 gr.

All of the squirrels will take part in a feast…..no waste.

    Thanks for looking.

You are putting that Marauder to the test in the field and she’s doing great. Good shooting on those squirrels.

Very nice hunt!  Gotta love the Marauder.  I picked a couple of greys yesterday myself.  One at 45 yards and the other at 50 yards using my .25 Marauder set at 56 fpe using the JSB MKIIs 33.95gr.

That is awesome, great story telling, very good read. Definitely would love to do that kind of hunting, but I'm basically on house arrest due to work and family duties. Great shooting too! Thanks for taking us along.

I really appreciate y'all taking the time to look and the kind comments fellas. It was a really good day and a productive hunt. I'm just so very grateful that I am able to spend days like that doing what I love most. I treasure my days hunting and shooting and never take them for granted. If only they were more often…….I have to do this thing everyday called work. But, I guess I'm grateful for that too. If not for that, I wouldn't be able to buy the new rifle I'm hunting with now!

    Thanks a bunch!

Rooster, you gotta quit showing off that Marauder so much.  I'm trying to save up for a new center fire match barrel.  Well. maybe..er..ahhh.. my old one will get me another season.  No No, will need a compressor, too.  I'll just stick with the 34's.😉

    Beautiful pictures, keep them coming.
