I've been coating for years now. mostly AR and pistol stuff and some long gun and shotgun stuff. I use my home electric oven as well. smells a little when its cooking but dissipates fast. way more smell from the application of it... I heat it at 250 degrees for about 2.5 hours then turn oven off and let it cool in there. Get a cheap sandblaster from tractor supply or tool town and blast all the surfaces your looking to paint (lightly on plastics) make sure you're over is CLEAN first as a dirty over can change the color of the lighter colors. Ie. tans, whites, FDE.... soak all your metal parts in acetone for at least an hour before painting to remove any oils.Wipe down and polymer parts really good with acetone and use soap and water on plastic to clean. Wear rubber glover so you don't get oils from your hands on the parts. you have to get creative putting large parts like barrels in the oven. I hang everything off wire hangers bent into hooks to hang everything. sometimes you need to crack the oven door open a bit to get stuff to fit. I use tinfoil around the oven door to hold in heat. 250 degrees is a good safe temp if you have to do this so you don't have to worry about burning down the house..lol... hope this helps... any other questions, hit me up. good luck!
