Watch and Discuss the Kral Puncher Jumbo video by AEAC

Just getting into pcp riffles, so i've been watching AEAC and Airgun Depot and many others on youtube and learned some, I bought my first pcp weeks ago and this gun that I just saw the review on could come handy, I like the wood stock design, It did sound abit loud but i have to find out for my self. To me this King Arms riffle is the 411 and Steve delivered it on his review. thanks guys and good luck..

"pointblank"Well... Steve never fails to impress with his top quality videos.

Top notch ergonomics in a 600 USD gun - on lines of it's European counterpart - FX Royale. Lol.

The 50 yards groups were interesting. The 100 yards groups did have a pattern with the exception on the final shot. I am thinking aloud here - guess a sort with the pelletgauge and maybe you may have that magic number for the head size.

I have noticed a similar issue in my airguns that shoot at the 900 fps mark. Till 50 and 65 yards - no problemo with even the worse pellets. However, you push beyond that and things go hay wire. A sort on the pelletgauge with various head sizes - and lo you have that 1 single head size that outshines the others.

Also, post mods with a regulator and the HT tune and I am sure you would have a winner here. The barrel is the heart if the gun and I think #kralarms has definitely mailed it there.

Everyday is a a learning experience and data from videos like these make you question yourself and help you refine the way the gun shoots - we air gunnies shoot.

I think I get what Kral was doing here. It makes good sense to have a 32 fpe 50 shot 50 yard .22 and to sacrifice a bit at 100 isn't a bad way to get there. If the owner wants it under 2" at 100, all they're to do is dial the power back some... and maybe JB Bore paste the barrel. Even then, 2.6" is good enough for rabbit, possum, & crow.

"Pixode"Unfortunate that it only comes in the Turkish Walnut. It's a good stock, but I wish I could have something different. Maybe I could get it custom painted. Everything else about this gun is above par for me, though. I mean, 50 good shots off of 1 fill? Tell me one day when you've bagged more than 50 animals.

It's almost as if they took all of the good aspects of a gun in the air rifle market, and combined them into one gun. It worked out very, VERY well! Did you see the groupings Steve shot? He was putting pellets on top of each other consistently all the way out at 50 yards! That's extreme benchrest level accuracy!
Amen on the "bag 50 animals" thoughts. I'm not at all opposed to regulators but if you're not going to have one, seems Kral's valve is a good option... I experienced similar when reviewing the Kral Puncher Breaker (ES of 21 across 51 shots).

"SendinSlugs"I believe that maybe that shroud could be causing the flyers,I've seen JSB perform great at above 920fps and that one was shooting 880s with the 100 group. The shroud looked off center so maybe the air flow was disrupting the pellet enough to cause flyers? If I was lucky enough to win the kral,I would just remove the shroud altogether and see how it preforms then. I may never find out tho. Good luck everyone
To me they didn't feel like flyers as I could see they flew stable on down to target. I feel like there was just a tad bit of destabilization... doesn't take much to go from 1.5" to 2.5" at 100. The wind at by 5 o'clock wind was enough to prevent it by itself. In my experience (most) but not all barrels want the JSB down below 850 to fly true all the way to 100 and in .22 need sub 5 mph winds too. Hope this helps.

"iowaairguns"If I remember correctly I think Steve seemed much higher on the Kral Puncher Breaker than this Puncher Jumbo. I'm surprised to see such a discrepancy in finish and performance from a gun from the same manufacturer in the same "Puncher" model family. Either way, I'd love to win the gun! I'll take the 50 yard accuracy results all day long!
I wouldn't be buddy. In my world it's a common theme among the price point.

"rwsmike"Steve, another great video and I'm glad you admitted that this gun is not backyard friendly at all out of the box ....that meter saying 82 Decimal is so probably off by at least 25 otherwise 82 decimals would be backyard friendly . good job pal:)
OH NO! THE DREADED SOUND METER COMMENT IS BACK TO HAUNT ME... AHHHHHHH :)

It's not off brother. It's just spaced 15 feet from the gun and is outdoors. The 65 dB it registers from my loud voice 15' away calibrates out and the Jumbo is definitely not as loud as a blender, freight train, or jet engine as all these warehouse readings would suggest. (Love you Tyler) :)

Hope this helps.

Hi Steve
Another quality video. I really like your videos. Great review, on another Kral air gun. I have a Puncher Breaker in 25. I have noticed that does the same thing, almost one hole, and then past 60-65 yards it sends them right, off line and some low. I'm thinking that the barrels and twist on these Puncher rifles has some thing that causes instability past 50 yards? I can't think what would case a sub moa rifle at 50 yards to become a 4 moa at 100. Doesn't make sence to me. I rarely shoot past 50-60 yard, and I'm using the JSB .25 cal 25.39s. I would like to see what the 33 gr. Slug/ bbt bullets will do. I do have a pellet gauge and have sorted for 6.36mm pellets and they do the same thing, one hole at 50 and 3-4 moa at a hundred and plus. My PB has about a 1:17 twist as best I can measure.
thanks

"Cone"I've been keeping a eye on this rifle since it came out and now I think you sold me on it! Great review as always Steve! At the price point seems like a great value for a shorter range hunting/plinking rifle. I was curious if you had any luck shooting the polymags? I saw some tins on the bench.

It actually liked the Metalmags at 25 but scattered the Polymag & Polymag Shorts out to about an inch. The Metalmags grouped at about 1/2" at 25.

When I reviewed tthe Puncher Breaker in .22, it grouped at 1.66" at 100 for me so I don't know that it's anything inherent to the brand. I would say that with this Jumbo, they're either flying to hot for the barrel or the barrel needs some love. When cleaning it after the pellet cull and before I boxed it back up for the winner, I pulled some pretty big pieces of lead out. To me that indicates a breech that may benefit from a polish or a bore in need of a little JB Paste. Whatever correction it needs, it would be VERY minor... so go in easy increments or you could alter right past the sweet spot.
