Washington State Airgunners

Attention all WA. State Airgunners. I’d like your input. I’m thinking about putting together an informal, weekend long airgun shoot in beautiful Republic WA. We have a 200 yd range with covered shooting benches. A few questions.

1. Would anyone be interested in attending.

2. What would it take to boost attendance.

3. What time of year would be most interesting to you all.

4. Are prizes necessary?

5. Do most of these types of shoots provide an air source?

I'd come up just to visit friends in Republic. So I'm game. Airgun Related prizes would boost attendance, even if the prize isn't announced ahead of time. I would plan right before or after Hay and apple season, to get the most participation. You should have a air station present. I'm assuming there isn't an airgun shop there in Republic that could act as point of contact and fill station. Been a couple years, but don't remember a huge busy town.

Late spring or late summer so it's not too hot. Contact national sellers for prizes. Like AoA, Pyramid air, Utah air and many others. My personal thing make it a fun shoot with maybe trophies for the good shooters and a draw for other prizes to get new ir non competitive shooters. If you want to draw big names I would not be there just to see there walk away with all the honors/prizes. If you want to draw new gunners to the sport I'd be there. JMO

Great idea Adam. I am located in Spokane and would be up to travel to Republic to meet some new airgun friends. Like already mentioned, probably best scheduled when the temperatures are not too warm. I am familiar with the Republic area and it is a very beautiful area. Lots of terrain to setup some interesting lanes for shooting. I have always been amazed at the seemingly lack of airgun supply businesses in and around Spokane.

FYI.

There is a guest ranch called the K Diamond K ranch. You are able to rent out the entire lodge which includes lodging, breakfast, lunch, dinner and coffee all day for $95/person per night. They have a total of 32 beds, some shared rooms. Would this interest anyone? They also have huge fields with tons of ground squirrels if we plan the time of year properly. I’m thinking that would just add to the weekend.
