Washington Airgunners?

If you guys want to hunt/pest on the east side you can go on the fish and game site and look up feel free to hunt places, and also listed land owners names and numbers to get permission. I spoke with fish and game no hunting license required for colored dove, starlings and I believe pigeon.

The area I live in the people at the gun ranges laugh and dismiss air guns as red ryders so going to these place's to shoot an air gun is a real pain... I have a place I got permission to set up a range about 80yards.

Are there any indoor ranges in Yakima or tri cities? All the ones around here are out door, and full of AR guys

I am in Kennewick also and know three more airgunners here. I shoot out on Kalotus highway, the Tri-cities metallic shooting Association (TCMSA) range. Never have any trouble with PB shooters and most of the time they stop by to see what I have that is so quiet. They are really amazed when I let them shoot the RAW or the Impact. TCMSA meets the first Thursday of the month at Griggs in Pasco. Go to the meeting, sign up, stay for the 1 hour safety briefing after, and get the combination to the lock. You can go shoot anytime, no range master needed. Minimum politics.

I Have a friend who wants me to go with him to Prosser to a range he shoots at up there. It is actually closer to me than the one I shoot at now so I am going to check it out.

I guess it depends on who you talk to, but the WDFW website says you need a small game license to hunt unclassified animals. I was told that applied for everything, classified or otherwise. Now, the collared dove may or may not be included in that category but if you’re caught hunting without a license how do you make the argument that you’re only hunting collared doves and nothing else? If you have a license it doesn’t matter. If you don’t have a license you’re in a trickier position.

From what I have discussed with the office in my area, game wardens in the field, and those who teach the hunters ed program. Starling and colored doves are listed as an invasive species and are exempt from classification. Its like not having to have a fishing license to fish or bow hunt carp.... Every warden I have come in contact in the field has thanked me a told me to keep it up...Shooting the starling and collard dove's. Even if you had a hunting license and they believed you to be hunting/pesting any thing other than those two birds then youd be guilty of not using a lawfull weapon so a hunting license wouldnt help you anyways. All the guys I ran into in the field just check my gear and ask what i'm doing..Most of the time they stop me with a riffle to make sure i'm not pouching deer.... Ive gone fishing for carp without a fishing license becuse i dont need one for carp. Game wardens check your gear.. Oh your set up for carp carry on...thats how that convo went. When they stop to check when hunting/pesting it pretty much goes the same way. Oh thats gear for starlings and Collard dove, carry on. So maybe its just the difference on being on the wrong side of the cascades over there

I am a member of a still unnamed airgun field target group starting up here in Ellensburg. Washington. They've had one match already, which I missed because I'm still a ski patroller and had duty.... I think they had 10 participants. The next match is scheduled for May 7th, 2022 and I will attend this one.

The range is on private land just north of town. This is still a developing project, and our inexperience may dismay the expert field target shooter..... but we are willing to listen and change so please come, participate, and help us out! Raw beginners very welcome...
