WARP COBRA is here!

"Dairyboy"This is his quote on the topic

"I have already had an email about them not complying with the DOT and TC markings, which I would agree is the case.... You probably can't get them filled in the USA or Canada.... I purchased the tank for my own use, after checking on the design spec. which is GB-28053-2011.... That is a very detailed technical specification, but here was the part I was concerned with, for my own peace of mind....Quote
5.2.2 Design of gas cylinders
5.2.2.1 hydrostatic test pressure shall be nominal 5/3 times the working pressure.
5.2.2.2 minimum burst pressure shall be 3.4 times the nominal working pressure.
5.2.2.3 cylinder design life of 15 years.

I am not recommending that anyone else purchase one, and I would expect you can't get it filled it you do.... but for my purposes I am satisfied that they will work just fine.... My gun will be equipped with a 5K burst disc, which is way under the test pressure, and still only about 1/3 of the burst pressure.... There is a difference between complying with marking requirements, and a safe product, IMO.... and yes, I am willing to bet my life on it.... within the parameters specified...."
I guess that were we have different schools of thought. Part of the "Design Spec" indicates that certain things must be "marked" on the label of the cylinder. If the cylinder doesn't have these "markings" then how can it me made in compliance with them?

See here is what Acecare "advertises":

"This type of cylinders is produced according to GB28053/DOT/EN1975/ISO7866 standard."

Each of these "standards" is different and requires different things. How can it be all of them?

Of well if you fee l safe I guess that's all that matters, good luck

"dodge3500"Once I finally get me one of them there warps with a 500cc cylinder ,I'll have no issues going to get it hydro tested as I have someone that will do it .I should be able to give the test results I just won't be able to get the seal issued on to it if that makes any sense.:)
Please do update us when you get the results.

Here is an air cylinder that is made to GB-28053-2011 Standard. Take notice of the marking on the tank.

Is this what your looking for?
Yes - so they are now putting it on the tanks. Not sure if that's good or bad. Originally the cylinders didn't have that on there, but now they do so I guess they are learning. Makes me wonder what else they weren't doing to the tanks.

If you're happy I guess that's all that matters as you are the one who paid for it.

"Ranger08"Under the definition of "thread hijack" there is a link to this one. He just wanted to share pictures of his new gun. Why don't you start a new thread with your concerns?
"Thread Hijack"? - Everything I posted has been about the bottle that came on this gun. How is that "Hijacking"?

What is this a "Show and Tell" without comment or questions?

Actually, yes, this thread is a show and tell. He got a new gun and wanted to share it. Typically, people respond enthusiastically and offer congratulations on these posts.

You have your agenda and should/could have raised the same issue in a separate thread. People who share your concerns can address it there. When you completely change the topic and won't let go of the issue...that's called hijacking.

Was looking at getting one of these but didn't like the fact that if you take that tensioned barrel off and put it back on the poi changes every time not good on a gun you change calibers on . also don't like the bolt looks and action. smooth lever action is more appealing to me . I have two scopes one is set for each barrel . The way the impact works I can put a scope on for the .30 and with a couple of clicks on the power wheel i'm right back in minutes or less going back and forth between calibers with no poi change . Quick without having to sight it back in. If you're in the field this is important.

Dairyboy, congrats on your fine new rifle. I just got mine a month ago and am absolutely loving it. The accuracy, consistency, flexibility, and quality are second to none. Some may not particularly care for the styling, but this rifle is all business. I personally buy rifles to use as tools, not wall hangers to admire and stroke.... this is definitely a tool meant for long term use. Just out of curiosity, what reg pressure are you running with your setup? I've just swapped back to the .22 cal barrel and started getting it tuned up. Seems pretty good with 18.1 JSB's at 915 fps with 2100 PSI reg pressure. I'm interested to hear your setup.

Also, stay in touch with Jim... he is working on a new end cap for the tensioned shroud with 1/2x20 UNF threads so you can use the mod of your choice.

As for the POI change hvack mentions above... to me that is irrelevant and not of concern. Out of all the barrel and caliber swaps I have done with my WAR Flex so far, the POI has always been 1" or less at my sight in distance (30 yards). I have a 16" .22 barrel, a 20" .25 cal and a 20" .30 cal barrel for reference. Anyone with any experience on a rifle can re-zero in around 3 shots, then shoot a group to confirm. It takes all of 10 minutes (going slow) to change barrels / calibers, re zero and be back up and running. I would absolutely never make a barrel change in the field, regardless of the platform I was shooting, and not confirm zero. That is irresponsible and lazy. I have a very expensive Accuracy International AX model bolt action rifle with switch barrel capability. Its a tried and trued, rock solid platform and they claim it will return to less than 1/2 moa after barrel swaps. Despite that, I would never go out into the field or shoot a competition without confirming zero. My 2 cents from a couple decades of air gunning, precision rifle shooting, and hunting.

Thanks guys! Was going to do some sighting in at 50yds today but we'll got a good wind going on so no go. Decided to shoot groups at 25yds just for fun and seeing the difference between the 18grs and 16grs and well I can shoot either as there both as accurate as can be especially in this wind!

SocalTrail I too agree on your points it totally means business and just works flawlessly. Right now I have it tuned at 880fps with the 16gr so 845fps with 18gr and I set mine at about 1700-1750psi from what I can tell.

I heard about the 1/2-UNF adapter from another guy and I'm definitely looking forward to it! The .22 is very quiet but the .30 could use some help. However it's no louder than any other .30 I've used but a Ronin would make it very quiet I'm sure!

I agree about the caliber changes. Mine havent been very far off at all and I even tore my gun all the way down to check it out put it all back together and was dead on still when put back together at 25yds. I actually really enjoy the tensioned barrel system as I don't have to worry about bumping the barrel like on my Mrods. And like said I take my time when doing caliber changes and getting it tuned to the max potential so I'm not worried if I'm off an inch or 2 during a caliber swap cause I like to make the most of it and make sure it's dead on before i use it on pests.

The thing about the WAR rifles is, they may look rough, unrefined and crude on the outside to some people. Truth is, they are full of innovation and good old American manufacturing. The valve and hammer system works great to control bounce and excess air usage, the cocking is not a fancy schmancy side lever but it’s smooth as butter. The TJ barrels are just plain phenomenal. And then there is the customer support. The guy who builds the guns actually answers the phone, responds to text messages and cares about his customers. This is in contrast to the experience so many report here on the forum with their foreign built guns. I still own a couple Daystates and love them. I have seriously grown to love this WAR rifle. And no, I’m not associated with WAR.... just a happy airgunner!!

Anyone on the fence should get together with someone and get one in their hands to feel the solid quality they provide.
