Walther Terrus trigger question

Hi All,

I recently picked up a used Walther Terrus for a friend. Nice rifle in many respects-BUT if the trigger is pulled with the safety on the gun will discharge the instant the safety is released, even without pulling the trigger. I'm not comfortable passing it along this way.
Do they all act like this?
I have tried using a heavier second stage spring with no success. If I can't resolve the issue I suppose I could disable the safety entirely which would at least insure the gun will only discharge when the trigger is pulled. Any advice would helpful!

Thanks,

John

New user here. Just joined, as I was searching for problems with the Walther Terrus safety. I have found that my Terrus will fire as soon as the safety is released if the trigger is pulled while the safety is on. I can feel the sear falling off the trigger. I returned it to Umarex and they say it cannot be fixed. They have offered credit for another rifle from their website, but there is very little in stock that I want, without spending far more than my credit. They have a .177 Parrus, but that's really a lot more rifle than I want, plus I'd have to buy a larger case for it and it would probably destroy my UTG scope. Plus, firing pellets supersonic is my garage really has no appeal. Just posting this as more of a PSA than anything else.

Update-Kind of late, but I ordered a new sear and a couple other trigger parts along with a stock trigger spring and that fixed the issue at least for now. I got the gun for a friend, he is aware not to pull trigger when safety is on. There was a slight amount of wear on the original trigger parts, but nothing drastic. At least parts were available from Umarex and service was good. I did need a spring compressor to take the gun apart. Given the plastic spring guide I don't know about the lifespan of this gun which is actually pretty nice.

On my Terrus I have messed with the trigger a lot, I have had no issues and found the sear has plenty of safety in its working, it may be that the the trigger has been opened up and not reassembled correctly , or way too much adjustment...

I had not disassembled or adjusted mine before, but I was told to remove the action/barrel from the stock and ship it bare. When I did, the green bar and associated spring shown in your diagram just fell off. Don't know if that was to be expected. Yeah, I'd really rather they repaired it but just maybe this is a silent internal recall. Pretty sure they would have wanted to fix it and just charge me for the service. At any rate, I shopped for a long time and I really felt this was perfect for me. I only had maybe a couple hundred rounds through it.

Maybe I'll just bite the bullet and get the Weihrauch HW30S Deluxe Urban Pro. YOLO

I haven't had any issues with the trigger on my terrus but what Mike said above may well be true.

it may be that the the trigger has been opened up and not reassembled correctly , or way too much adjustment…

Umarex probably isn't really able to do anything about since Walther isn't making any airguns anymore.

What's Umarex going to do? Get replacement parts?

Could be they're not importing them to the US any more. Krale in the Netherlands shows some in stock. Check the online discount sporting goods places if you want a Terrus, I've heard of folks getting them cheap. The one I had seemed pretty nice and accurate but all I did was fix it's trigger and shoot it a little, I didn't do an extensive test.

FWIW, Umarex is replacing it with an RWS 3400 .177. Look's pretty comparable from what I see.

When I wrote them back, I mentioned trigger adjustment, assembly, etc., but they said no to all. Pretty satisfied with the service, considering. A little Googling seems to show it has the same trigger mechanism as the Terrus, though... Hope it's good.
