Walther Lever pellet rifle/ Ammo Shortage

Been difficult finding the 22lr Ammo I use at a reasonable price if at all. I enjoy my lever 22lr rifles but have been looking at the Walther CO2 pellet- very authentic but pricey- but can get ammo and CO2 . Have several Daisy 1894’s and the Umarex Lever- while less expensive has shell ejecting and at 70, don’t want to be picking stuff off the floor.
Was hopeful the ammo shortage would be winding down but doesn’t seem that way. The Walther seems a good alternative.
Any thoughts, experiences with the Walther, ideas? Thanks in advance

Well 1954, I've owned both versions of the Walther's. The second version, which takes the large 88 gram bottle, was much better in regards to shot count, and build quality was good on both versions.

So, I actually did the opposite of what you're looking to do. I was disappointed with the low power of the Walther, but really wanted a lever airgun. So I started purchasing several 22LR levers guns, and ordered 10K rounds of CCI quiet ammo.

Now I have three beautiful levers that shoot 40gr lead ammo at 715 FPS, and make less noise than a couple of my PCP's.

Good luck with your lever quest.

The Walther lever action is excellent quality.

You get what you pay for. I have owned mine for several years.

If you do buy one buy the co2 adaptor. That way you do not have to shoot 400 shots to empty it.

If you plan on shooting all weekend the 80gram c02 is great.

They say you should not leave it in your rifle for extended periods of time because of the seals.

I put 1 used 2gr c02 and 1 new one in my adaptor and get about 40-50 shoots. Use pellgun oil every time you put in c02. for the seals.

The accuracy is amazing. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Go on you tube and watch air gun detective, he evaluates air rifles and is very thorough.

Thought about selling mine but every time I pick it up I change my mind. It is definitely not a daisy or a red rider !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can shoot it in the basement and I like that.

Umarex is the parent company of several brands.

What I know of... Beretta, Browning, Colt, Glock, H&K, Hammerli, Ruger, S&W, RWS and Walther (not to be confused with the other Walther [Lothar]).

I think they'd be a great company, very innovative, but their quality is lacking. I've had many Umarex family guns, but I'll never buy another. They could send me one for free and it would just end up on eBay for something quality.

my 3-cents.

so I understand what you are saying.. like the barrel company lothar.. but my reply was about above the Walther lever action, someone said that it was better.. and I don't know but I assumed it was from the umarex manufacturer too?? could be easily wrong since I have only read what pyramid air said.. just thought I'd bring it up for the person who was looking at it.. nice to know who actually makes it and where.. since there's already too much disposable junk from China and even other places.. I'd hate for someone to think that the $400 Walther is better than the $200 legends and find out that only difference is how they work and price.. I totally agree with you about not having junk..
