Walther 1250 Bolt Problem

Hi all,
Last February I got a Walther 1250 .22 from AOA. The gun quickly developed a problem with the bolt not going all the way forward. Magazine o-rings showed tears, like they were being pinched. I sent it to Umarex, which replaced the entire rifle. Now the replacement is having the same problems, after about 500 rounds!

Has anyone else had a problem like this? I also have the Hammerli 850 CO2 version in .177, which has never given me any problems.

I know exactly what your talking about. If you oil up a Q-tip and run it thru every hole on the mag and also lightly oil your pellet probe it lubes it anuff to not catch. You'll be surprised at how much smoother it will be. I broke two mag o-rings before I tried that. I also started buying rotex .22 mags instead, there compatible and much better built. I hope this helps.

i wonder whether the probe might be slightly bent? common with the 850s. sometimes countersinking the barrel at the breech end helps reduce the amount of force needed to introduce the pellet - see here for the mod, http://www.network54.com/Forum/583201/thread/1226779394/At+last%2C+Pics+of+the+breech+and+port+mod.

Thanks very much! Sorry for the delayed reply. What oil do you use? Ballistol? VP 90? Silicone oil? I will try this when I get the gun back (or a new gun) from Umarex... In the meantime, I'll order some Rotex magazines.

Id just keep an eye on the probe. I have two dominators and Haven't had a problem with the probe bending. I just used pellet lube on the mags. But really any lube is better then non. Just hit me up if you have anymore problems, I've done a lot of work on these guns and should be able to help.

Thanks. I got an RMA from Umarex but I'm going to try your suggestion before sending the gun in. Can't find Rotek mags anywhere. Hope lubing solves the problem!

When I first got my guns they were so dry on some of the mags i'd have to jam the bolt shut and I can see where you could bend the probe but you would have to hit it really hard to do so. So I soaked a Q-tip with pellet lube (any thick oil should work), and just push it through each hole. After lubing the mag it last for quite a while.

So I lightly lubed my pellets with Napier pellet lube and lightly lubed my magazines and bolt with Napier airgun lube. The gun has worked perfectly for two cycles of eight magazines. Not one jam. Thanks again for the advice.
