Wall Hangers

I'm in the process of converting a closet into a gun closet. I'd like to hang my rifles horizontally against a felt lined wall. Does anyone have any recommendations for wall hooks that are wide enough to comfortably hold rifles with wide stocks such as the Bobcats? All of the ones i've found online have 1 3/4" openings which is too small. I was originally going to use floating shelves but after buying one and propping it up it takes too much space. Thanks.

You could always jigsaw some quality hardwood or plywood.

Ingenius product. The metal can be bent to accomodate larger stocks and is rubber coated so it won't scratch a gun.

make vertical 1x3 wood, cut 1\2 in. dowels to proper length and bore at desired angle, glue in dowels mount to studs in wall. should get many placements ,sound good?

Thanks for the suggestions. I don't have the tools for some of that so I just went the lazy route and used some j hooks I found at home depot. They are orange but it's growing on me.

I've ordered a side rail for my PB rifles to stand vertically on the left wall and will install a small floating shelf and figure out some nice holder for the handguns on the right. Below will probably be some type of storage for accessories and ammo.
