WALHER LGV

I found a refurbished Walther LGV in 177 at The Airgun Depot for 440.00 after coupon. I am a PCP shooter, Air Force, Marauders, FX and a custom HW100. I read the reviews about the accuracy of the LGVs and the TX200/Pro Sport. I figured I would try the Walther since Airgun Depot had one at such a good price and I didn't have a springer at the time. I set it up with an 8- 32x Bushnell 4200 in Sportsmatch rings. Sighted it in at 20 yards. WOW ! The rifle is everything the reviews say it is. Well built, smooth firing cycle and ACCURATE. I'm told, I have the "U.S. Spring" , over 12 ft lbs. It hits pretty hard using JSB 10.4 pellets.I may get a "U.K." spring for it to try that out. It will group into a ragged hole. While sighting it in, a wasp landed on the tree I use as a target holder. Figured I'de give it a try. At the pull of the trigger, I saw the wasp explode with the wings floating to the ground, Did I mention the gun is ACCURATE ? I'm sure, once it wears in and smoothes out, it will be even better. I am impressed. I looked at these guns for a long time and am glad I chose the Walther.

They really aren't hold sensitive. My hold technique is like any other, firm to my shoulder, cross hairs on target and break and follow through on the trigger. As long as I do that right, the pellet goes where it should. This little gun is amazing ! With just a little work getting acquainted, it will shoot as good as a PCP. At almost half the price refurbished from Airgun Depot of the TX 200 / Pro sport, it was well worth getting. Fun gun, accurate and well built. You can't go wrong. The spring is a little much for me (woman) but manageable and is getting easier as I shoot it more. Oh, I'm shooting 10 gr JSB out of mine. I haven't tried any other pellet yet and I am totally satisfied with the accuracy. That was what kept me away from springers. It is definitely starting to wear in and settle down. The firing cycle is a slight vibration, barely felt after some practice. It is a vibration and not a harsh "jump" like other springers I have shot. When I hold it right, it is just a "smooth vibration" with the crosshairs close on target. There is no harshness in this gun at all. Get over the temptation phase and take the plunge, you wont regret it. Airgun Depot has the competition model on sale for 499.00. Great price.

I just received a master version in 17. At 15 yards it is shooting one hole groups with a variety of pellets. It shoots nearly as good as my FWB 300, and at more velocity, from the bench. Shooting offhand it is hard to beat the FWB trigger. I can't believe that the LGV has not dominated the spring gun market entirely. My only gripe is that the trigger "feels" like it is sometimes slightly varies in effort from shot to shot, but it could be in my head.
My profile photo is 10 shots at 15 yards with my rested LGV.

Wow Brent that's some really good shooting !!! I found a " project FWB" so the Walther will have to wait .
Not sure I would know how to act with a Brand New gun. Lol . There is a Version on the Krales site that doesn't have sights that's really attractive to me . If I get one I'll probably order the UK version with the lighter spring ...Y'all post pics of yalls guns and show em off a little :)

Ok OK
I know I swore off springers .... actually hated them.
Well Jamieinmd convinced me that a LGV should be in my future...
Well I found a refurbished Walter Challenger LGV Ultra...in .22
Heck asking price was 399 and then another 40 off with promo code.... and free shipping.. Why not I said.

I am here to say I am so glad I did.... this sure can shoot and shoot well. Not much of a kick at all... and guess what... no twang...or crunching sounds...
There are days I just don't want to fiddle with air .... this gun will sure help out.... I have no doubt this will be a great gun for hunting when I want to leave my pcps home..
I must say this gun is quality and then some.... if you are thinking of a springer... this is the one to look at... So I guess I am not a spring hater anymore...

Brent,
I thought the original trigger was a huge let down so I found the Tuning Trigger and installed it. WOW what a difference. Well worth doing.

For anyone that wants to order that trigger or parts for their LGV, here is the Phone number and trigger part number.
PHONE NUMBER........479-646-4210 EXT. 7
Trigger PN..........600.200.35

Really nice folks to deal with.

I put the trigger in and it has made a world of difference. I generally only really like PCP guns because of the accuracy you can get from most PCPs but this springer will keep up with most of my PCP guns. It's been a few months singe I got this gun and it has smoothed out into a real tack driver. I'm very happy with the fit and finish and especially the performance of this gun.

When you get an LGV and post some pics, then we will believe you. Like you said, 'It didn't happen if there ain't no pictures". But don't believe me, get one for yourself. Put your money down. From my experience with the LGV, you won't be disappointed. The really do shoot great. Try your dime challenge when you get it. Just give it a tin or two to break in. Springers aren't exactly PCP guns but this one will hold it's own IF YOU CAN SHOOT.
