Vulcan2 .22 shotcount

Hi there!

I have a vulcan2 in .22cal that i bought in order to have more autonomy than my vulcan tactic mk4 .25cal (45shots) and i have some doubts about it. Right out of the box it is shooting five 18gr magazines at 875fps, which are 60 shots. These numbers does not seems good to me....i expected about 90/100 shots at 890/900fps. The regulator is about 110bar that is when the speed starts to going down (i have not a reg tester).

With the HST i can not change the speed more than +/-10 fps. Are the HST of vulcan2 only for fine tunning? in my other guns i only have to work on the HST to change the speed at all range...

Whats going wrong with my gun?? others i saw on the internet has the numbers i spected from mine... how can i do to get a better shotcount?

I am very happy with the accuracy but also dissapointed about the numbers...so i wonder if you could help me with that.

A picture of my vulcans:

Based on the specifications posted on https://talontunes.com/shop/vulcan/, you're getting better performance than advertised.

TT shows that at 31 FPE-- which is what you say you're getting -- 45-50 shots are expected for the Vulcan2 .22 caliber.

You say "I am very happy with the accuracy". For many experienced airgunners, accuracy trumps energy level.

You have 2 fine rifles. I have no doubt that you will enjoy them immensely.

Thanks for your reply 2manyAirGunz.

Yes, actually im not looking for more power but for a higher shotcount at 30FPE or a bit less...I want to reach 90/100 shots per fill. Are there some way to do it?

I've seen you are owner of vulcans, would you mind to share your numbers?? In your vulcan2 the HST is only for fine tunning as mine?

It's weird the difference in specs from TT and other reviews and announcements of vulcan2....For example:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7y_fmtD3CcQ (.22cal 100shots at 42J)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F56lcRThxW0 (.22cal 90shots at 890fps)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WcKk3tYw4zM&t=238s (.22cal 89shots at 900fps)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vYd2nPyp1Nk&t=2271s (.25cal 60shots at 925fps)

For sure im enjoying my vulcans, are very accurate

I have the Vulcan 1, so not exactly apples for Apple's. I'm getting 90-95 shots per fill shooting the JSB 16gr at 880fps.

Does the V2 have a smaller air tube?

Scott

Oh my. Thats a lot of shots. Just wondering if you are also shooting it after it drops off the regulator. I dont think that the .177 vulcan has a shot count that good on the reg. My .25 only gets a bit over 30 shots before dropping off the reg. It also shoots 25 grain JSBs at 930fps and the 33 grains at 840fps.

My .22 Vulcan gets about 65 shots on a 200 bar fill. I have my regulator set at 138 bar. My .25 Vulcan2 gets around 45 to 50 shots on a 230 bar fill. Jamoalla, you'll need a regulator tester if your going to do any experimenting with shot count. The regs easy to pull and work on, but a tester is the best way to go.

Zonk

Hi Zonk,

Casue i have no tester, tunning the regulator is my last option. I have been said that 1minute clockwise is 1bar less aprox.....but i do not know how to adjust my V2 for a better shotcount without touching the regulator.

How is it possible that you get 65shots on a 200bar fill till 138bar and i get only 60shots from 240 to 110bar with a larger air cylinder?? Attending at the reviews i posted before, i should be getting more shots per fill, dont you think so?

Mine drops off the reg right about 88 shots. I can get 95 before velocity starts to drop, but I usually just stop after my last magazine (7).

I fill mine to 250bar. I haven't touched the reg setting, nor have i done any mods to the internals.

The only changes I made, we're to have Donny FL make me a 3" extension (not a moderator) simply because I wanted a little longer look for my eyes. A magazine holder, white line buttpad spacer, and added checkering to the grip.

Hi,

I am late to this thread, sorry, but I have a gen4 version 1 Vulcan in .22 and I get at least 88 shots from 250 to 120 bar.

I don’t have a version 2 but I feel that considering the extended air cylinder, that you should be getting more.

Was the gun purchased new, if so then I would be concerned. Sometimes a leaking oring can sap power and reduce efficiency, just thinking out loud.

I messed around with my reg to try and get more shots, then got a tester as the eyeballing I was doing was driving me crazy.

Yes, the gun was purchased new 3weeks ago...

What pellet are you shooting and at what speed?

That is a beauty for sure, I hope it shoots as good as it looks! Leupold scope?

Thanks for the kind words. Yes it's the Leupold VX3i 1.5-5x20. 9" long & weighs 9.5 ounce. Sweet little tactical unit.
