When you say "The lever is not quite as smooth as the FX's", do you mean the whole cycling action or just the last part of the cycle when you load the pellet into the chamber?

I’ve never owned an FX air rifle after hearing about all the quality control issues , but have 3 different Air Arms air rifles, and when it’s time to pick up one for pest control I without hesitateion grab my go to “Vulcan 2” .25 tactical , because it is without a doubt pinpoint accurate and lays the smack down …

First morning with the Talon Tach .25.  Upper left is JSB 25 grs, upper right is JSB 33's, center is with the 25's and lower right is with the 33's again.  All 4 of these targets are with 2 clips each so 18 shots.  Distance is just over 50 yds. This is in my backyard and was dead calm.  I have not touched the settings.  It is box stock from the dealer.  I have the Sumo on and it is very quiet.  The hammer strike is louder than the air.

The lower left is the neighbors wife and her 13 yr old son.  Its amazing to me that he is thirteen and has never had a gun in his hand. He had a good time and really got into the whole thing about shooting and accuracy.  I put up targets just for him and to shoot.  I got out my 1077 and let him shoot all he wanted.

Great groups Fredeich. How many shots from 230 bar?

    Peskadot,

I really am being too picky, the lever cocking on the Vulcan is fine.  I have a Crown and Streamline, the lever is silky smooth but really the Vulcan cycles without a hitch and I do like the way the magazine fits the receiver, nothing is exposed.

I think that to pick up 2 tins of pellets and and start shooting with these tight groups says a lot for Vulcan.

I actually had company while shooting this am.  LOL it was not a controlled test.  I did not really have a chance to check that because I topped it off twice while shooting 12 magazines. I may get a chance to really check in the morning if so I will let you know.

No beautiful woodwork, but Vulcan synthetic has a very nice no slip feel. I am waiting on the No Limits mounts from FX, they are so easy to work with.  I did have to almost max out the scope  adjustment on the scope this am.  It was shooting low.  This is just temporary.

The second time out with my Vulcan it would not fire at full power.  In fact just enough air to put the pellet in the barrel.  I took the magazine out to clear the barrel, after clearing the barrel I closed bolt and fired the rifle. It fired  with no pellet, it fired at what appeared to be full power, so put the magazine back in and fired.  Again no power.  I went through this several times, with similar results.

I took off the Donny FL and it fired at full power for 5 shots with the magazine in.  Put the Donny back on and no power.

Must be a regulator failure, so have returned the rifle to be repaired.  It will be interesting to see what the diagnosis is.

@frederich, are you sure that's not an Impact? j/k. Sucks when that happens with a new gun…  Let us know how it turns out?

    Centercut,

LOL no not an FX.  I will follow up.

Hi Lowkey,  I don't want to say at this pt because I am not pointing any blame.  Just a malfunction which they have agreed to fix.  Can't ask for more than that.

Glad that your enjoying your rifle.

Tony from TalonTunes who I bought my Vulcan 2 from said that it can be filled from 250-280 bar ,  which would give a higher shot count . My air tank was low at the time so I could only fill to 240 bar , and got 31 regulated shots .
