Vulcan to be sold with side lever?

Goodday Mates, FYI, after the post I made last week on another forum, where I discussed my views on the Brazilian made Vulcan side lever mod, which I purchased & installed on my Vulcan last August. I just recently received another message from Mr. Pigrov Evgeny of AGT, in answer to the last questions I'd ask him regarding the lever's availability & a few other details about it..

Since Dec. 20th had been the date that Pigrov had previously given me, regarding when he expected his mod could begin shipping, had by then, already come & gone, I was initially somewhat disappointed. However, after my initial confusion to his first reply dissipated, I realized that he had already shipped his version of the mod to me, COD, intending to surprise me. My bad, lol.

I've been expecting his parcel to arrive for the last week, but as yet, it hasn't been delivered. I'm currently not yet able to report on what Pigrov is charging for his version of the mod, but I did learn, that the kit does include, the side plate, lever, & a complete set of mounting screws. Photos I've seen of it, look very good & in keeping with the rifle's quality. I will later give my post installation impressions...Don R

Postscript: Yesterday I did receive AGT's new version of the side-lever Vulcan mod in the mail. I am very pleased to say, that it is, everything that I had hoped it would be. It is constructed of all metal, high quality materials which match the rest of the rifle's construction beautifully. Although it is very similar to the Brazilian's plastic version design, AGT has delivered a much more sophisticated version which is both much stronger & more streamlined. The folded lever rests closer to the rifle, it is more tucked into the rifle than its counterpart, making it less prone to get snagged or caught on clothing etc. AGT's lever handle is also somewhat shorter, & comes with a full ambidextrous side plate, along with a complete set of mounting screws (2 short & 2 long), which allows the hinged section to be stacked on top of the plate, & rightly fastened.

Installation of the mod is very straight forward, & is both faster & easier to install, than the crude, cheaply made Brazilian offering. I can now also disclose what Pigrov priced the mod that he sent to me. I am not stating that this is the normal cost of the mod, but I can say that I was billed $110 for the mod, plus $10 for shipping. Lastly, the build quality & inherent strength of the AGT side lever mod, I feel is reflected in the smooth operation it provides. I do believe that AGT should make this lever standard on their future productions. Well done Pigrov...Don R

Don - how is it working so far?

Hi Jmdesignz2, I only installed the new AGT side-lever mod the other day, so far, I have only put a couple hundred rounds through my rifle since switching from the plastic version which I had been using since last August. In answer to your question, it is working just great. I am confident it will continue to perform well, since its design & build quality is on a par with the rest of the rifle. I was immediately very pleased with the smooth & easy operation provided by the lever design, this was also true in the cheap plastic Brazilian offering I was using until now. Although the plastic version was cheaply constructed & destined for a limited service life, it did also work flawlessly. I am just happy to now have a build quality which again matches the rest of rifle & allows for the same continuity of pride in ownership ..Don R

Here's the kit I received for my Vulcan. It installed easily. However, be certain to tighten part 201 last, because it is movable and must be adjusted to permit the lever arm to line up evenly for a butter smooth cocking action.

Installation consists of five screws, one assembled part and the side plate. It's stupid simple! When you take the old cocking mechnism off you realize there is only one "internal" part to attach and that is up front and easy. I like it and if the new Vulcans don't come equipped with this mod, the owner must have lost his mind.

"MrAirgun"Cool.

Sounds a bit dry though, I'd get some grease over that barrel.
Dont think it was dry, ill check but that snagg was more from me trying to hold my phone with one hand and having the rifle loose in the rest trying to cock it.

One negative thing is that at the end of the pull you dont get a positive click or anything so if you 200 pound gorilla that lever its going to break. Common sense will prevent it.

OP, what do you mean about the lack of a positive click? Surely the hammers setting is the sound you're after in a lever like this.
Theres no way to tell when to stop pulling backwards. Didn't feel like there was a "hard" stop so to say. Not a biggy but with the bolt you knew when you where far enough backwards and forwards. This is a bit more soft and less direct.
