Vulcan Tactical 25 Cal, Day One

I thought I'd share my experiences so far with my new Vulcan Tactical. I got it from Charlie at Georgia Air Guns yesterday evening. I got my bipod and Hawke SW Tac mounted on it and somewhat sighted in.

First impressions out of the box was that it felt lighter than what I was expecting. The finish on the metal and wood was flawless too. The wood is pretty slick so care needs to be taken when handling it.

First shots, quieter than what I was expecting. Definitely back yard friendly. I would say quieter than my Cricket 25 for sure and actually quieter than my Daystate Regal 22. It came shooting 887-898 for 45 regulated shots and then a couple off the regulator if pushed. Magazine performed perfect, fit and finish and the way it rotated into the action keeps the straight lines of the receiver solid looking. Cocking the hammer is a little rough but a couple of drops of oil helped that a lot. I figure more shooting will also get it smoothed out as well.

Accuracy, looks like it's going to be a keeper. I had breezy wind all day but managed to keep the pellets in one of the small orange dots at sixty yards pretty easily. Hopefully tomorrow I can get some good groups going and try some Benjamin Domes as well as the Kings that I shot today. Here's a couple of photos of it along with the shot string I gathered this afternoon.

I see them now... Photobucket is a fickle beast. I am on the waiting list for the tactic in .25 although I am on the fence as to whether I want the wood or black over lay stock. How heavy is the wooden version?

Also, the longer shroud ( compared to the regular Vulcan bullpup) must be quieter?? I wonder if dialing the hammer spring tension so the pellets are going 860fps, will increase shot count?

Hey Basker, the book that came with the gun shows the weight at 6.4#. I'm using a Atlas clone. Granted not near as good as the real one but affordable. I then bought this sliding rail that actually had a Atlas number identifying it like Bt.... It was $34 but I think it's about the only option to mounting a piccatinny style bipod.

Awesome looking gun and if I didnt already own a Vulcan BP I'd probably order one. I really like the lines and other than the butt they did a really good job on the stock. If its anything like my BP then just keep the cocking handle lightly lubed for about 300 rounds while it laps itself in then clean it and lube with Krytox moly grease. It'll be as smooth as glass.
