Vulcan Picatinny Rail mounting.

So. I have a 3rd gen AGT Vulcan and would like to mount a rail for a bi-pod. Anyway, mine did not come with that mounting slot/grove that I see some come with for mounting a rail. I have seen some out there with a rail mounted on the same stock style that I have. My concern is the bolts/anchors will hit the air tube. The wood is rather thin in that area however I do not see it to be so thin that it would not hold up. Sill I would like to add some anchors of sorts for strength. If anyone has done this to a vulcan or had a similar issue and worked something out please toss me some advice. I have been wanting to do this for some time and I think now is the time.

Tominco of Tomcat Air Guns just did a nice picture series last week on installing a pic rail up front on a thin stock. Go up to the magnifying glass in the top right corner and search for Tomcat airguns or Tominco. It should be one of the first items to pop up. You learn two thing, how to use the search button and how to do the install like a pro!
You will be very pleased.

I just read over the guide. Would be very easy. I happen to get along well will tools. I ave seen this method done before and was something I was considering the last time I was looking into the rail add on. Sill though my real concern it the thickness of the wood. Like what happens if I were to bump the mounted bi-pod just a bit to hard? Would the wood crack? Sure, this could happen to just about any stock but the wood type and thickness could make a big difference. As I was reading over the post someone was talking about reinforcement. Something I was also considering. Might try and get to it this weekend but I have to finish a project for the wife first. I told myself not to long back that I would not start another project until the current is finished. However I think I can make an exception in this case.

Yeah I know about the gen 4 stock option and was thinking about it. I did just order one of the donny suppressors the other day and was considering the side lever upgrade as well. the current stock will be getting a hydro dip soon also. providing I dont mess up the rail add on. I think ill be fine though. Also with the wood grain not near as good as the 4th gen stocks id rather hydro it over a new one. 4th version is to nice imo to have a dip done. However the syn version is another story. I would have one hydro dipped. Anyway the adjustable butt plate to me really is no big deal to me. Sure the rail mount is nice but I have a good stock to work with and it saves me money. Nice vulcan by the way. Love the Tatsu on it. Looks good. I ordered the sumo from talon tunes before I had seen Donny's website with other options. I would of went for the more stumpy look but I have no doubt I ill be happy with the sumo.
