a couple months ago i posted a wildcat vs taipan vet comparision which brought out much support for both - and deservedly so. this post will list my impressions for the Vulcan 2 pup and that same wildcat both are 25 cal. to keep this post shorter i won't list shot spreads , just an overview.
POWER - wildcat 42 FPE , Vulcan 45 FPE winner Vulcan
ACCURACY - EVEN
COST - Vulcan is listed at $300 more base price , winner Wildcat
OPERATION - Wildcat has lighter and slightly smoother cycling action while firing. however the vulcan feels more robust. vulcan sidelever will lock when mag is empty preventing dry fire. mag holds 10 versus 8 on cat. mag is easier to load than on cat which sometimes you have to turn clockwise to line up probe to pellet. WINNER - Vulcan
SLUGS - Vulcan can shoot slugs out of the box , wildcat needs additional slug liner. winner Vulcan
LOUDNESS - within one decibel of each other . winner - EVEN
SUMMARY - you can't go wrong with either of these guns IMHO. with that , the Vulcan 2 pup runs about $300 more than the wildcat , but , you do get something for that extra coin. the Vulcan has more flexability with ammo , more power , and feels more durable. with the empty mag preventing dry fire. an extra little function , and slug capable , more than justifies the extra cost. WINNER - Vulcan 2 pup.
