I was bored waiting on a bird so I just happened to see a fly sitting on the side of a bird feeder about 15 yards away, not far. If I could just shave the side of the feeder without actually hitting the feeder...hmmmm....thought about it, then decided to go for it. Shot the fly right off the side without touching the feeder. Fun stuff. I'm sure if I keep risking it, I'll eventually hit the feeder, so I think I'll stop while I'm ahead.

Wow, that's great shooting! I'm dialed in at 25-40-55, even 125 yards with my Vulcan, but when a squirrel pops up 15' away, it's a swish and a miss. I don't practise the close shots, to my detriment. 
I've always noticed , when I have a gun good for 300 yards, I seem to see game at 300 yards - walking with my slingshot, game appears at 10 yards. There is probably a rule of thumb in there, somewhere... 
Good shooting, move it out 25 feet and I'm with you!
