Vote - best glass under $500

For me under $500 best glass/scope as it good 10 yard parallax, FFP, good unbiased reviews, with good glass, 6-24x50, good turrets, illumination, good reticle, and is what I am ordering for my .25 barrel kit.

Under $500 there are many and probably no one scope for everyone as people have their own personal feature preferences. While some whom are financially motivated may push one scope as the best thing I think everyone has to come up with their own requirements and look to good unbiased reviews from Joe and others whom are not paid by sponsors and make their own choice.

Lewis how does it compare to your DELTA STRYKER?

It is nice but not in the same league as the Delta. The turrets and reticle on the Stryker are on another level. They should be though. I got the Barra for 190 shipped. The Stryker is about 1500.

The turrets on the Barra are soft between the clicks. The clicks are positive and repeatable though. The Barra feels very well constructed. Do you know if they are made in the LOW factory? The glass is, as expected, outstanding at that price.

Why are you inquiring if it's made at the Famous LOW factory in JAPAN? They make SUPER EXPENSIVE HIGH END JAPANESE SCOPES like MARCH, NIGHTFORCE, DELTA STRYKER, TRACT, HIGH END EXPENSIVE VORTEX most can't afford to buy. Honestly I have absolutely no idea! I'm not sponsored nor receive free scopes to review and promote. I won't even push the other Barra scopes that I haven't gotten a chance to check them out for myself. I have been really burnt buying brands of scopes within the same class like Discovery HD and Bushnell Nitro just to name 2 that their other scopes in different magnification in the same model class wasn't nearly as good. In fact my recent Discovery HD 34mm 5-30x56 I can never in good conscious recommend because it's not clear past 20x and it's a 30x scope!!! my 30mm HD 4-20x50 whoops it's butt for a lot less money!!! I can't recommend anything thats not clear all the way to max power which is the FIRST THING I CHECK now to make a decision to keep or return them unless I don't have a choice and just made a stupid buy because of the price. I go through a lot and returned A LOT of scopes and kept only a few. Unfortunately the Discovery is not returnable. I'll have to just use it as a 5-18x56 where it's good and clear just like my $649 MTC VIPER PRO.

I have this Vector Optics Continental 5-30x56.

HD Glass,15 yards min parallax, very nice reticle with center dot.

Really good glass for less than $500. compared to my other scopes the glass is clearly superior to Hawke Sidewinder or MTC Génesis and with scopes more expensive like Sightron SIII or Trijicon Accupower the difference is very little.
