I used to do a lot of squirrel hunting with a similar scope, a Leupold 6.5-20X, before scopes were generally available with close focus ability. I found it a problem, and I was constantly powering way down in order to get a decent focus on close targets. You can make it work, but I think you would be much more satisfied with one of many currently available scopes with extended focus ranges. One of my personal favorites is the Sightron S-TAC, a 4-20X with 10 yard parallax minimum. But, it all depends on your use, and you mentioned a 50 yard zero, so maybe your need is for a 50 yard target scope, in which case it should be fine. Most of my air rifle shooting is at closer targets, and 45-50 yards is about my maximum.
