Vortek spring kit for model 48

Good morning. I dropped a Vortek sub 12 ft lb kit with a top hat into a Diana 34 with a T05 trigger about a year ago. After the install, she wouldn’t cock. I backed the trigger adjustment screw out a little and she cocked. I then had to make some fine adjustments to get the trigger to my liking.

Make sure you do not have old spacers (washers) stuck in the piston. As with the Vortek kit does not use it. Clean the grease out with brake parts cleaner and see if you have something up there. If so remove it. 

My TO1 trigger Model 48 would not cock with the top hat on the spring either. Very disappointed in Votex selling a kit that doesn't fit. Should've gone with the NEW- ZRT Mag RWS-Diana 48 from http://www.airrifleheadquarters.com/catalog/item/251488/8533197.htm as they offer one for the TO1 trigger specifically. The coils on the vortec spring are thicker and as such won't compress as far as the original spring and ends up coil binding. I'm going to try and machine down the top hat thickness a little at a time until it works. Hopefully I don't screwup the top hat as I'm using a drill press to turn the top hat. lol But what the hey, I can't use it as it is now so no biggy. I know I'll never buy anything else from Vortec and will recommend people not buy their kits. Crutcherro1, I tried the trigger adj thing but it didn't help on the 48. I just like to add, the reason I'm pissed at Vortec is instead of maybe sending me a shorter top hat they just said to remove it. That's just bs!

I installed the PG2 kit in my 52 and had to machine a small bit off the top hat so it would cock...it made my 52 into a fire breather! if you have the 12fpe law, it WILL put you over that.

How much did you shorten it?
