Venture With An Electronic Scope (ATN X-Sight II HD 5x20)

No idea why last years model would cost more than the new and improved model?

I guess I kinda do have buyer's remorse. I do not like the way ATN does business, they tricked my into believing the item was in stock, took my money right away but did not ship @ 6 weeks later, and when I finally received the Scope found out I was paying to be a beta tester. So I helped bank roll, and beta test while losing months off my warranty. Then I was ignorant enough to order another one of their products, the action camera without laser. I ordered the camera 3 times with 2 different vendors and received the camera with the laser each time. I did not want the camera with the laser because 1 I have no use for it and read it was useless and 2 I wanted to use it to video my HFT events and did not want anyone to think I had a laser rangefinder and was cheating. I called ATN and they said, yea we are all out of the camera without the laser. So right now if you order the camera with out the laser from Amazon they ship you the one with the laser, and if you order the one with the laser they charge you more.

I did have to order the dovetail to picatinny adapter to mount it where you see it in my photo. It may seem odd for the scope to be overhanging but it seem to stay secure and feel comfortable while shooting at that position. Recoil is not an issue for most airguns so don't expect the RAV to function. This is my first experience with an ATN product and so far I haven't ran into serious issues.

Before this last update .619 I think, external back plug in it would ask on start up weather power pack or external battery power. Now it don't , if you have both internal and external plug in it will not start. If you take internal batteries out, and run on external then it will start up no problem. Here is the kicker though, turn it on use it and then turn it off, it will not turn back on until you unplug external power for a few seconds then plug it up again, starts right up.

never had any issues with scope until the 619 firmware update, little upset but if I had all issues people are reporting I would be on fire. My little issue is not even worth me contacting atn or reinstalling firmware or anything. Just leave it on the whole time when hunting or just unplug for a second and off I go. Maybe the next firmware will address everyone's issues including my little one. Either way, I have no real miss givings as over all, you get a lot for your money so I'll take the 97% working product until all the bugs are out.

Nappyman- If you're using a non-ATN external battery pack, some have an ON or WAKEUP button on the external battery pack before you turn on the XSight. That way you don't have to keep unplugging (especially during your night shoot). Well, that's how my XSII with the 619 update roll. If that don't work unplugging the USB from the battery is probably better than unplugging from the XS to not wear out the micro-USB. HTH

No wake up, it had no problem before the 619. I'm using a rav duel usb rated a little longer life than atn version. I think it's 2.1v and 2.4v just a guess at numbers, but I'm using the lower one as it works just fine.

correction: I do have a power button😳 Never had to mess with it before. I have to assume some of the firmware is now allowing the battery pack to be smart and shut down so I guess I don't have a problem after all 😁
