They are ok. As you said, they are heavy, but for plinking and hunting, they are fine. If you get into competitive shooting, then that's another matter.

"mrjohns"I know this isn't a popular choice and I might have trouble down the road, but I bought a UTG 4-16X44 Accushot scope. It has 30mm tube, locking turrets and side adjust parallax. It is clear and the windage and elevation adjustment is audible and accurate. It's heavy, but it is a solid and good looking scope for 128.00 shipped. I don't really care about lighting the reticle, but I do like the close mildots. Zero at 25, you raise to 4th dot and your on at 50. It it break down, I have the lifetime warranty. I know,some will say, it is cheap Chinese junk, and it might be, but right now I like it.

I have a few of them and for the for the money spent they are a darn good scope. Their 4x with AO and Mil Dot is a great bargain for under $50.00 when on sale. UTG makes some pretty good stuff, I have no reservations about using them.

They can work for competition. I use UTG scopes on all my field target and silhouette guns. Piston, PCP, and rimfire. I doubt if I would do much better with any other brand.

I called OP and made them an offer today, they excepted it and no shipping, so I bought two of them .... I do love the UTG 4x16 AO mil dot scope. They are a great value and are very good for my use on a PCP gun.

What about their quick release scope mounts? They look like good quality but once remounted do they hold the same poi? I'm thinking about getting a set.

Just today I changed my Sportmatch to the UTG quick release. Just to gain some hight. Forgot testing if it keeps zero :\

I'm currently testing out a 3-12x44 UTG compact scope using a cheap modified weaver to dovetail adapter with the supplied UTG Weaver mounts........

I bought two of these weaver to dovetail adapters from an Ebay retailer and modified them to use in tandem on my Hw95........



After modding.........


These adapters came with beefy 6mm stop pins but since I don't like pointed stop pins I machined one similar to a dog point set screw......


I was surprised that the two base screws were rather small 4mm socket head screws however I was able to torque them down to 35in/lbs torque without stripping the threads, however after a few repeated removal/re-installation cycles the sockets of the rather soft Chinese screws did "cam out" so they were replaced with better hardware. The screws that came with the mount only had 12mm of thread so I decided to order some 12.5 grade socket button socket head screws that had 20mm of thread since the adapter was 22mm wide. These are the screws I ordered........

Anywhoo.......the adapters, UTG scope and mounts do look rather silly but they do work surprisingly well together on my HW95.......


This two modified adapters mounted "end to end" have a combuned clamping length of 5 3/4" plus a beefy modified stop pin. The scope height is a bit higher than I'm used to but even this seems to be working well when shooting some 18 yard targets upstairs in my "man-attic"!
