Us postal service?

Same here in PR, purchased a "premium" airgun from a fellow on the east coast late December, was sent USPS-Priority. Instead of the normal 3-4 days it took a bit over 2 weeks to arrive.

Over here it comes and sits in the warehouse in state until theres enough packages to deliver to the local usps to tjen go pit for delivery. It might have always been like this and maybe i just noticed because i was so eager to get my airgun goodies. 

I send out a lot of USPS priority mail boxes out everyday and for the past few weeks I've seen a lot of Delays. Even packages sent priority within the state is taking almost a week but if I send something to Cali, it arrives in 2-3 business days. 

No doubt the USPS service has deteriorated. I send priority boxes that always go thru Chattanooga from my location. Many times they and I can no longer track it after it gets to Chattanooga. I want to the local PO on one occasion a couple weeks ago and even they could not track it. Takes some times a week and at times more to reach it's destination. I feel fortunate in that none have been lost or damaged. Brian

There is a new dotd rule that limits truck drivers I thought that went into affect in January I thought I read something about that and that it is computerized
now and drivers cant cheat with a hand written log book like in the past . We had a shipment coming where i work and the driver said he was out of hours and we had to waite

The post office has lowered delivery time standards to try to get by with fewer people.The whole f-ed up mess is due to Congress mandating that the Postal Service prefund 75 years of retirement benefits. Much of that money could be paying for employees, equipment, etc. It’s pretty hard to swim when Congress has tied rocks to your feet.

I've just had recent 2 day priority mail package getting stuck for extra week.

I've submitted missing mail search after a week online and that got package unstuck and moving again.

I sold a few tins of pellets and shipped them in a pre-paid box from Florida to Georgia. It took 10 days. Was told by the guy in the post office that it would arrive in two days. Hah!

Just bought a AG: from RI to Michigan should have been 2 days. Got the same thing: "Delayed, in transit" for over a week, then it suddenly appeared at my doorstep 9 days after it was shipped. If the box isn't too big, UPS is only a few bucks more, but it's the only way I ship anything now. 

Same here. I purchased a reg from someone on another forum and tracking has said "shipment delayed" for the past 12 days. Originally said it would arrive here (cross country) in 5-7 days and its now been 2 weeks still with no update. Argh.

I always ship through USPS. I've had no difficulty or delays except for a couple of days around Christmas and New Years. We had some really bad roads (for us) during that period.

There appears to be a dramatic shift in delivery times on priority mail packages since the beginning of the year. We are in AZ for the winter and I subscribe to the USPS Premier Forwarding Service which bundles your mail and forwards it every Wednesday by priority mail. Before Christmas the packages arrived on Friday. During the Christmas rush the packages arrived on Saturday. Since the first of the year the packages arrive on Monday.

I dont know if I should be glad this is happening to other people, its been driving me crazy!!! For some reason my local carrier keeps placing my mail box in the "vacant" I have been to the post office to fill out the change of address forms 4 times since july. I called yesterday because i havnt recieved any bills in 6 weeks. They placed my mail box as "vacant" again!! So had to go back and fill out the form now for the 5th time. Today my mail was delivered to my neighbors..... I have amazon stuff come all the way to my post office to be sent back as undeliverable , never leaves the post office or it gets deliverd to the neighboring town to a similar address, but in a different zip code I dont understand, drives me crazy!!!! My two day express ends up being 1-2 weeks. I live with in 100ft of my post office.you can see my mail box when standing in front of the entrance doors.

Yep, 2-3 days Priority now has changed to 2-3 weeks since the beginning of new year. I have seen my packages got to local hub then got routed to another state a couple of times this year already! Not sure what's the deal with USPS, service has been pretty bad lately.

I agree. I am in Puerto Rico, and Amazon Prime, which tipically uses USPS, is taking up to 4 weeks lately. Regular shipping time was 4-6 days, USPS. On the other hand, Amazon fastest shipping services are working more or less as usual, both USPS and UPS.

A few things to consider.. yes delivery by USPS is a bit slower lately. However most of us have the same mail person for a spell and they are a little more considerate when leaving packages when no one is home. Ups have left packages down the street, propped up instead of laying flat to conseal visability. Always in the run and gun mode and scan and scat. For me, the better service , shipping and receiving can be had at your local pickup "all things considered". Works for me.

Here’s one for you in early December I ordered a couple of metal spinning targets on line from a trader who is only thirty odd miles away. The targets shipped out the next day and only arrived yesterday. Now in early January I was slightly miffed that they had not arrived so the poor old trader did a full refund. Once the refund arrived I promptly bought them from some where else.

i called the original trader yesterday and told him the sorry tale and paid again for them. Why pay and not keep my mouth shut some may ask not me my mother raised me to be honest all of the time.

Same here. Another air gunner sent me a couple hammer springs to try in my Badger. Got then Friday. He sent them out over a month ago. Wv. To Mi. Should be 3 days at most. Hell, I can drive it in 10 hours!

I bought a PP700 from another member here. He sent the gun out of Ca. USPS on a Friday and it showed up in my mail in Mi. on Monday. He then sent me a fill probe on the 6th and it still isn’t here. Lucky for me, he got a shipping tracking number. It showed up in a Detroit Mi. a couple days ago. That’s only 1 1/2 hours away. 4 mailing days plus Sunday (today) later, still no fill probe. And tomorrow is a holiday. So I will be waiting at least another 2 days to shoot this gun. Torture!!!
