Uragan (updates as I learn the gun)

i found out how to adjust the trigger,,,,where the tube goes into the back of the gun,,,just above that is a grub screw,,,at the side is a locking grub screw,,,undoo the locking grub screw and turn the sear adjusting grub screw clockwise to reduce creep,,,allwaise test the gun for accidental let off after adjustment,,ie,,,bash it about a bit to see if it goes off on its own,,,you can view the sear as you adjust it and see how much shelf you have left,,,hope this helps any one

jrayner ,mccastro (mikeC) here from the UK.Just got my Uragan .22 (long).I would also like to adjust the second stage of my trigger (due to old injury to last pad of my trigger finger).I read with interest your posting about how and where to adjust said trigger.I'm just not clear on your instructions,so for a thick head like me,who does not want to get it wrong and blow the warranty on a new gun, could you list the part No's (as on the Manual drawing above) please. Cheers MikeC.

on page 9,,,,,loosen locking stud 111,,,,,,then adjust stud clockwise109,,,,,you will be able to see the shear poin if you face the gun to the rite,,,it only takes a very small amount of adjustment,,once set,,,tap the gun viggourusly to make sure it dont go off,,dont blame me if you get it wrong,,lol,,,or i have got it wrong,,,,,,let me know how you get on pls

Just a different visual for the sear/2nd stage adjustment. If I had had my reading glasses on I would have been fine earlier but many thanks to jrayner ! As always, don't mess with this unless you are confident that you can get a safe result.

Thanks to jrayner and JCD for the quick reply. Those instructions , part No's and photo make so much more sense to me . I will be very careful as i adjust and make sure i give the gun a good "bump" test after each tweek.Keep the good info coming guys, as i think a lot of us new Uragan owners are in the same boat as i, with the poor manual.Cheers MikeC. P.S. will keep you fella's informed of changes and anything i learn.

I never mentioned how my adjustment went.... Simple answer, went fine. Trigger isn't really any lighter, didn't really expect it to be. It breaks a little cleaner though. I could adjust it bit a bit more but I'll hold off. I might take a little back off the HS and that should lessen the pressure on the sear.

The MKII's shoot fine but a liitle squirrely (at 900fps) sometimes now that I've played back some video in slow-mo I took when I had the right light. I don't want to shoot them harder... so I'll back the HS down again and see if they settle down.

good to hear jcd,,,,,,,,and that pic is spot on,,,well done,,,have you come up with any ideas on how to fit a 2 point sling yet,,?

That's one thing I probably I won't even be trying. When I shoot offhand, its with one of my 10m guns, when I walk around it's with my WC and use a single point sling. This one it just an expensive hole punch for 'office desk'.

Has anyone actually had good results shooting the uragan full length, .25 , shooting 25.4 jsb or the jsb 33.95gr , if so what fps / speed have you found that actually suits the pellets,

There seems to be nothing mentioned about the uragan!

I'm having great results with both the pellets you mention. I'm still working to get the best results I can with the 33.95s with small incremental HS adjustments. I went up with the HS to get more speed on the 34's, worked... but really didn't improve on target results. I had it as high (FPS wise) as 890-900 on the 34's which pretty much made the 25.4s unusable. Im back down to 840ish with the 34's, which also brought the 25.4s back down to 940-950. Still higher than I'd like for the lighter pellet, but while the POI is different, groups are about the same with both at current settings.

My gut tells me the 25.4's are going to be the better pellet for my gun/barrel but dang if I don't have ALOT of the 34's. I'll keep testing both as I keep adjusting the HS down a little a time.

The caveat here (as always for me) is that the most significant 'error' in my on target results is ME. My guns are longer than my bench so there is never a rear support other than my shoulder and my elbow is not on the bench either. Given that, sub 1 inch groups (when the wind is down) at 75y is the norm (and that's great for me).

I feel my current setting is getting to the low side of what's ok for the 34's but is still too high for the best from the 25.4s. I can report back after my next small tweak but it may be several days..... haven't had a lot of shooting time the past week plus.

That was long winded. Are you struggling with one???

I've had mine for a while now, I bought it after owning both the gen4 & the Vulcan 2, both .25 , the gen4 will take some beating,

The uragan just doesn't seem to group well , no matter what power you have it set at, I've tried it from 950 fps down to about 865fps, and the grouping is still not the best, using jsb 25.4 & airarms 25.4, I can get about inch groups out to 50yrd , a bit worse at 75 yrds, but hopeless at a 100 yrds, every other top grade gun seems to manage well out to 100yrds, yet no one seems to be getting good / acceptable groups past 75 yrds with an uragan ! The shot count is great, you would think with the 530mm cz barrel it would be better than it is ! I'm yet to try the mk11 jsb 33.95 pellets, but others I know that have tried them don't give good reviews !

It's not often that I can get to shoot 100y. I mean, I have the range... but there is always equipment in the way. Chrony data is good, results at 75y are good (for me). The 1 time I did the 100y targets, my results were better with this than with my .30 Vulcan 2 (but again, I am not a good shooter so who knows...)

Quick edit... I am finding that I need to clean the barrel more often than any other gun I've had.

I will give my barrel a good cleaning and see what happens, for the 25.4g I've found the best results up to now at 900fps, but over the chrono the most consistent speed has been around 940fps giving a 2fps spread over 100 shots, but the accuracy isn't there at that speed with the 25.4, I've also found that the barrel is very tight in the first 3inch from the breech, I'm thinking about polishing the barrel a bit ! Overall I'm not that impressed with the accuracy

Have your adjustments been purely HS or have you been adjusting the reg too?

I'm still trying to find the 'best' of the 2 pellets along with the right speed so I've been less worried about the chrony results over long strings and more about what 5-10 shots do on target and at what speed. So that's all been HS for me. ES has definitely gotten worse over longer strings, as I adjust FPS down. Once I settle on one, then I'll turn the reg down a little and adjust HS as needed to hopefully tighten the spread back up.

My barrel is a little tight too. Might be some JB paste in my future, at least just to make sure it's as smooth as possible. Just haven't been motivated to pull the barrel yet.
