Uragan .30 Review - part 3 - 100 yards and beyond

I figured I would go ahead and address the Uragan and the wind. Here is one pic of a small group at 20 mph side winds at 100yds. This was when the gun was shooting at 920fps not the new tune of 865fps. Not bad considering the winds involved.

Now, let me just say, I don't normally shoot airguns out to 200yds. I do on occasion shoot them out at a AR500 plate that I have at 200yds just to hear them ring, and to also check for pellet spiral. So here is an "accidental group" at 200yds shooting the 44.8gr FX .30 cal, so that I could collect the pellets post impact, to inspect for deformation of the pellet.

I really could not see where it was hitting on the plate while I was shooting, I could just hear it ring. I left my scope set up for 100yds and just used holdover, aiming at a spot on a tree behind the 200 yard plate. I collected a few of the JSB 44.75gr .30 cal pellets for this picture. These have oxidized a little, as I shot this back a few weeks ago. As you can see, there is plenty of energy still at 200yds! Just so you know, at 100yds, the pellets are pretty much destroyed. I will occasionally find the very center ring intact.

Well that pretty much concludes my review and journey with the Uragan .30 for now. I have plenty of other pics and groups at different distances so if anyone would like additional info that I didn't include, feel free to contact me as I would be happy to share or try out a different configuration.

I will say that this gun, while tuned at 920fps was shooting the FX 44.8gr .30 cal pellets as well, in most cases better than the the JSB 44.75 gr pellets, I have not tried the FX pellets at this 865 fps tune, as I am about out of stock. I will do so as soon as Pyramyd Air sends the pellets that I ordered a few weeks ago...dang Pandemic.

Again, big thanks to Charlie Frear at Georgia Airguns for listening and working with me to get me the gun I wanted, and to all the fine folks on this forum that have helped me along the way. Big thanks again for the hard work that Matt and Gregor have put into making their videos.
