Since my post on the new Umarex Ruger MKIV .177 got no response at all, I won't waste my time writing up a full report on this one. But here's a pic giving some idea of how it shoots single action (left target) and double action (right target), if anyone's interested.. I got 78 shots out of one CO2 cartridge.

I'm curious what distance you shot those at. I shoot at ten yards, and with mine I'm getting about 1 1/2" groups for six rounds, single-action using a proper pistol rest. Overall I really like it, and it definitely has the same heft and feel as the real thing, but my decades-old Crosman 357 outshoots it. Of course the 357 shoots pellets and has a rifled bore, but I watched Airgun Detectives on YouTube and his example shot phenomenal groups.

DSK, those were shot off a "benchrest" (Black & Decker Workmate) at about 9 yards. The left target is 24 shots, with 11 of them separate holes and 13 going into the "rathole" just to the left of the vertical bar. 

My DA groups seem to be running lower on the target than my SA groups, suggesting that the shorter DA hammer fall is giving lower velocity. 

I had a Crosman 357 (you're talking about the all-plastic Python lookalike, right?), and it was okay, but the too-light weight was a deal-killer for me. I gave it to my kid when he was in high school. I have several of the old all-metal Crosman 38Ts and 38Cs, but only one holds gas at the moment. I'm hoping to get a couple more of them rebuilt soon.

My 357 is an early one with the metal frame and 8" barrel, so it's got some weight to it. The later all-plastic ones weren't as good. I've had it since I was 12 years old and have rebuilt it twice already. Stubbornness and nostalgia can make for an expensive combination.

With the Umarex M29, offhand I actually shoot it better in DA mode than SA. I've tried it both with BBs and pellets but there doesn't seem to be any measurable difference in accuracy.
