"W4c"Can someone explain to me what' advantage of hunting with such a gun over PB? Its impressive gun, but I dont get the need for it.
It probably has no advantanges over a PB other than being a bit quieter, it's a want not a need. Pushing the envelope, innovation that's about it. Maybe in 10 years they'll look back at it and say it was the beginning.

Air rifles of the mid to larger calibers will never approach PB levels of power its simply a matter of stored energy. Air when compressed under pressure has a limited amount of power it can achieve without going to larger and larger calibers due to two main factors the area the air has to push on to move the bullet and stored energy per Ci under X pressure. Now one would think you could just keep uping the pressure till you reached PB levels but unfortunately that cannot be done and in fact once past 5000 psi the ratio of power to CI really starts to take a down turn. You can only compress atoms of air so far before fluid dynamics start coming into play. The upside is you can make plenty of power to take down game at modest distances(compared to PB) for a fraction of the cost of ammo once the initial cost of the equipment is paid for and with good air management and air strippers a PCP will be considerably quieter and that what attracts a lot of us to shooting PCPs

Definitely getting one for fun and conversation but my next question is.....What size air supply tank does a person need to bring with them if they don’t have a place to plug a compressor in at? would a 74cf tank be enough? if so how many fills or does a person need to get a 90-100cf tank and again how many fills ?
Just a question I think a lot of us would like to know if buying one.
Thanks.

It's regulated to ,300psi so as long as you can fill above that you should get a shot.

FULL fills to 4,500psi off a 4,500psi tank, technically zero but at least the first fill would be close.

Without a home air supply one will need to hope a suitable ammo comes out with it as hit & miss testing with a big-bore uses SO much air.

Figuring the best ammo for a DAQ .458 at 2,800psi used a ton of air.

I pre ordered one from PA. Only a 6month Waite. Maybe! I have enjoyed and been successful deer hunting this year with my .40 Badger. Been looking at getting another bigbore. Just wanted one and something other than an Air Force. Deer are pretty easy to come by here and I have gotten board using a HP or shotgun. Before the Badger, I used my .50 ML. I already have molds for the .50 and both tanks and a compressor for the bigbores.

I told my GF I wanted to get one badly when they are finally shipping. She wanted to know what on earth I would need something like that for. I told her it was to get rid of the squirrels. The look on her face and the full min. of silence while she tried to process a .50 cal 700ftlb rifle on a nutter was pure heaven especially after seeing the thin wafer left after hitting the gong. Not sure I'll be able to get it but that is the plan for this fall.

"Imold"Thanks cfarm for the video, for some reason I thought it was a bit faster then that and went to 4500psi, guess I’d still be better off putting my AV in back of my pickup and taking that with. It still has its place if your shooting a airgun with a high shot count then you could reset targets and reload mags while it’s refilling your airgun.
Yeah 900$ and fills to 3500 max, I'll pass.

Ok now we’re talking cfarm, I’ll need to get some specs on the Travler now.
