Umarex Gauntlet: Teardown and Tweak Video

Hello Guys and Gals, Today I would like to offer you all a video I made that details the disassembly and reassembly of the new Umarex Gauntlet in .22 Caliber. In this video I completely disassemble the rifle and point out areas that can be modified to improve the performance of the rifle. I will field any questions that the video does not cover and can clarify anything that I may have said that was not clear.

Enjoy!

Shucks I was hoping you might take it all the way down but that's okay I'll take pictures when mine gets modded.
What was the result from shimming the striker/hammer spring? Were it a QB ( and it's not so) the spring is already stiffer than needed for max power if wanting to maintain valve stem life - are there ANY umarex parts available ? - ,.
The spacer seems to be close to 1' in the .177 model.

I didn't pull out the rear valve retaining ( whatever) washer/section behind valve, but again IF like a QB it goes back in one detection as the hole for the bolt is offset. I'll check that soon. The QB fits either way but only backs correctly to the valve if installed correctly.

Thanks for the vid.

IF I read the chrony charts correctly ( #11 was before tune and #1 is after ? ) there must be something going on with that rig.
An ES of 47 with a regulator is awful. Graph #11 with a 27fps ES wouldnt not be a good spread for a regulated rifle either.
Over sprung and dumping all available air then bouncing?
Way to much lube inside the reg would seem a good guess to me also.

This one may be slightly different but all the Ninja HPA rigs I've worked on ( that were working correctly) held a 10fps ES and that is what I will be expecting from mine in bith .177 & .22.

"dixieduo"Absolute fabulous video. Thank you. What size hole did you drill in the shroud? I would like to quiet my .177 more. How did you reattach the air stripper on the barrel?
Thanks for the support! The hole is 3mm. I simply pressed it back on as it was cracked but not cracked in two. I am trying to determine if a MROD stripper will fit.

I agree that the spring should be more than enough to give all that the valve has to offer. I an thinking that the Valve swell may need to be modified. The washer that is between the hammer and the valve body could be replaced with a shorter spacer allowing for a greater valve dwell. It appears that you .177 spacer is the same size as the .22, So they much lower the reg pressure in the .177's I would guess or the .177 has a lighter spring.
