I am still a newb to air guns. I don't own any PCP rifles yet, but I am shopping for one. I have been researching and shopping for the past couple of months. To me I don't see the justification for the high prices being asked for air rifles. I have been into Long range shooting for almost 50 yrs now and my pb rifle that is capable (depends on shooter of course) of 1200yard consistency did not cost me what a lot of the PCP rifles cost.

How is Umarex offering a PCP rifle with a Regulator for $300. What am I missing ? or maybe I should be asking what is this Gaunlet missing ! I was going to pre-order but changed my mind until I got some thought from y'all.

It's not out yet so no one really nows. Usually the pricier brand have outstanding finishes, build quality, match triggers, and high grade barrels and so on.

The Gauntlet sure looks like a lot of rifle for the money. It might be built with slave labor and shoddy quality control to keep prices low. On the other hand, the exclusive distributors may be price gouging.

I have a Kral ordered from pyramyd for February delivery, it's $500 and made in Turkey

Everyone is wondering how they are able to offer a gun with all those features for that price. I'm sure it's going to be worth what it's selling for, the question is, is it enough to make you happy? I'm curious, I hope it's a really good value, it would be great for the sport to have an affordable alternative to the high end guns. If the reviews come in favorable, I might have to get me one.

I have no clue how they will do it because I'm shopping as well. I do know my last Umarex ( Ruger Talon ) was a severe POS. It was very inaccurate with 8 different ammo choices so I probably won't try another one. When I say inaccurate, I mean 1 inch groups at 10 yards from a rest at best.
Im lurking here to find who is reputable and who is not because you can't trust many reviews lately on utube.

Your message reminds me of when I was disappointed by a new marauder. Looked great on paper but it was a clunky disappointment. Pyramyd took it back and sent me an air arm's S510. Much better.

I was already spoiled with high quality stuff at the time. I also found the AirForce stuff to be a good platform with Lothar accuracy at a sensible price.

Hi guys, new to the sight. Just thought I'd share some of my observations of the gauntlet. And maybe some have noticed also.

I've converted a couple qb79's to hpa and believe the gauntlet is a copy of that. The reg is in the 13 ci ninja tank. A close look at the trigger group matches up perfectly to the QB. Safety and all. Single stage...but very adjustable. If the barrels worth a darn it should be all that they're claiming. If wanting a little more or a little less fps... adjustment of the washer stack on the reg isn't hard to do. I think it's going to be a winner.
